  1. Have a great Birthday.
  2. Less fail, more win in the future
  3. AAAAAAARGH!! Evil devil cat from hell!! Oh wait, that's my cat.... Nice kitty
  4. It sacrificed it's life for the greater ortho good. I've prepared a state funeral for it and wualta will read the eulogy. A few must be sacrificed so the many may prosper.
  5. Me being an impatient dick . Instead of gently removing the drivers carefully from their current housings I decided to just pry them out and snapped the magnets. It's right up there with turning down the Fostex baffle on a lathe... with the driver still attached. I do tend to put my stuff through the wringer.
  6. Cheers In other news, I just managed to completely break my Yammy YH-2 drivers so they're headed for the bin. Now I'm back to having no Yams again. I think I'll try for a 3 next time unless a really cheap 100 comes along.
  7. Yeah, not as much bass as the bigger 30 and 50 drivers but still very nice down to an audible 25 and vibrational 20. You just need a good seal with little airspace.
  8. The 40 seems to go very nicely even from my Rio Karma DAP. The 30 and 50 prefer more juice, though I have used both outdoors with the Karma. One day when I have the cash I'll get a 50RP to play with. The driver looks nice from a technical and design standpoint so I don't see why it shouldn't sound good too. What are they, $70-80? I should be able to swing that one day.
  9. Heh, nothing like a bit of smeg on your ears to put a smile on your face
  10. Wouldn't it be easier to just buy a decent set of phones in the first place? I mean, srsly.....
  11. Yes indeedy! I had to wait for the right phones to come along.
  12. Erm, sadly no. I always forget that part in my haste to get them finished. One funny part was trimming down the original driver/baffle plate to make it fit my wooden one. I put the drivers in the lathe to whittle them down and one of them escaped. It went hurtling across the garage and embedded itself in my garage door Glad it went that way instead of embedding itself in my forehead. Thankfully, no damage done apart from the hole in the door. The drivers were fine despite the immense abuse I subjected them to. Tough little drivers I'll try to remember fotos earlier next time.
  13. Here's pixies Quite the internal pad rigging setup but it works very well and is good for long sessions. Big thanks to Spritzer for the Omega Pads that make these so comfy. Damn I love orthos, so much fun to play with.
  14. YAY! Happy flu day Reks, enjoy the soggy pizza I'd visit my mother too but she's like 8,000 miles away and that's a long fucking trug in this damn snow.
  15. It's snowing again in Seattle, this is like a whole week now! It's not supposed to do that here.
  16. Continued employment
  17. I woke up and found out it's still fucking snowing White Christmas for me... yay
  18. Wow, where did all these birthdays come from? Have a great one Ken!
  19. Happy Birthday GPH, have great one
  20. Happy Birthdays and Xmas all in one....
  21. Merry Xmas or whatever you celebrate my fellow 'casers Been having lots of fun with my Fauxstex T40, new set of Cherry clothes, headband and sexy pad configuration to make them supra-circum so they sound great and are nice and comfy. This time I went for a big-ish closed bowl. It's actually a really nice sounding driver and produces oodles of bass despite being a relatively small driver. I like it a lot and seem to be getting some really nice results from he old fostex drivers. Pics to follow once the camera is recharged...
  22. Made another set of phones and got bit by the lathe chuck Spinning steel jaws Vs. fleshy sogginess = ouch.
  23. TEKNATOOL SuperNova2 Lathe chuck on special offer. Yippee skippeee
  24. Whatever works, mine sound great out of my old Hafler MOSFET. I love the orthos, trouble is I have so many now I have a tough time choosing which to wear. Luckily they all sound wonderful so I don't mind being spoiled for choice.
  25. I'm not saying it's not worth pursuing, we need to find a winning formula instead of the fail we've had so far. I still think it can work. Deepak, the four driver wasn't one of mine. It was a cool perspex thing but it's buried in the 600-odd pages somewhere over there.
