What are you listening to Part Two
If you email the guy on that site he can give you access to mp3s of all their albums. I got Brot & Spiele on LP, very cool album if you are into strange NDW/Krautrock/RIO hybrids

Investigation into possible mods for the Stax SR-404
I need these new pads with the cloth dustcover, I do not like that foam stuff too much. Can I just buy the cloth dustcovers to replace the foam?

I posted on SH forum as well. No really music related but krautrock related. Conny Plank's studio stuff is for sale: linky. There is a lot of cool stuff

Try a combination of open cell foam and felt. Can't wait to see what sound you will get out of them. I bet anything of that stuff will reduce the soundstage depth and width while improving precision.

Your recent music purchases
Peter Hammill - Skin (1986) - original UK 1986 CD, I have the US LP version as well. I am just a PH nut Embryo - Father, Son and Holy Ghosts (1972) - jazzy krautrock goodness, in transit, won this one on eBay Curlew - Curlew (1st Album) + Live at CBGB 1980 - if you are into 1980's NYC Downtown scene this is required listening Hans Reichel - The Death of the Rare Bird Ymir (1979) Hans Reichel - Coco Bolo Nights (1989) - this avant-garde self-made guitar and daxophone stuff is amazing. I have no idea how I overlooked this guy until now. Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (1974) - fatboy case CD version from ATCO. Sounds good, but I am not a big fan of Genesis as I realized after trying to get into their various albums. I like solo Gabriel stuff better.

Investigation into possible mods for the Stax SR-404
Could it all be attributed to poor energy dissipation? If this is the case that I bet the intensity of this etch would change from pair to pair depending on how well the glue set and is holding the driver elements.

I always had this issue as well as slight fart with my SR-303 and people where laughing at me.

Nice write up with cool pictures. Let us know how the sound changes once the drivers are re-glued.

I have this somewhere, let me give it a listen. Last time I remember not liking this all that much.

The Headcase Stax thread
This is very interesting as I like my SR-303 and I never heard this extreme etch that others were describing, maybe it's because they changed the glue on the driver? I bought my pair brand new about a year ago.

Nothing that I think will be of interest to anyone else First Cassiber album from 1982 "Man or Monkey". Partially avant-garde, partially free-jazz improvisations and mostly inaccessible, weird and hard to digest album

I just don't like Plant's voice and in general I am not a big fan of heavy bluesy hard rock. We always have fights with my wife about this, she loves LZ and hates Deep Purple. N.P. [url=http://rateyourmusic.com/artist/peter_brotzmann]Peter Br

This is my favorite Lee Morgan album. N.P. Lucifer's Friend - Lucifer's Friend (1970) Oh , and I still feel and Led Zeppelin ripped off some ideas from this album. LF debut is fantastic and really rocks hard in the same league as Sabbath and Purple. Can you tell I don't like LD?

Grooves Inc
One of my "rare-CD collecting" obsessed buddies confirmed that this is a legit site that delivers, although very slowly. So I looked through their site and found more cool stuff for very nice prices so I ordered a few more CDs, some of them shipping in 5 days. Lets see how it goes.
