With magnesium alloy frame?

I prefer my ESP950 for rock music to all of my Lambdas at this point. I still like Sigma better. I still prefere Lambdas to ESP950 for jazz and ambient music. Out of Stax amp they sound less upfront and have more finesse. Very good cans they are indeed, very underrated.

I like SR-303 much more than SR-X or my SR-Gamma. SR-303 is technically superior headphones and to my ears sounds much better. Bass is better, resolution in a level above and soundstage is a lot better. I don't get annoyed with the small upper midrange spike. I actually like it, as it pulled micro details to foreground and gives headphones better perceived resolution. SR-X I dislike as to me the sounds claustrophobic, cold and brittle. SR-Gamma I like, bit it does everything just a bit worth than SR-303 or my SR-Lambda. I like SR-Lambda and SR-303 about the same, both are nice, but I prefer SR-Lambda for old rock and jazz and SR-303 for very well recorded modern music.

No a bad price for ESP950. I got them recently and they are very good. Different flavor than Stax but better then Lambdas in some ways.

I am alone in not liking the looks of new Stax amps? I like the look of SRM-T1 and SRM-1 better, than any of the new amps

Aha, SR-313 is a bad amp. Sorry to repeat the old "bad amp" mantra. I heard SR-303 with it and it sucked. Bad soundstage, and overall somewhat muddy and harsh at the same time. I like SRM-1 much better, very clean and transparent to the source. Try SR-404 sometimes with a different amp, SRM-717 or T1, I bet you would like them more.

Why do you say SR-404 are bad? From what I hear form people that had both SR-303 are very very similar to SR-404. I have SR-303 and SR-Lambda and actually prefer SR-303 over SR-Lambda by a tiny bit. They are both very similar, with Lambda being smoother overall and more midrange centric.

I like McCormack DNA-1 with Apogee Centaurus or old Magnepans. You can find them both for around $1000. This combo sounds very nice.

Are you looking for new gear or are you open to finding used stuff?

They do sound great for the money.
