  1. Tears For Fears -- Songs From The Big Chair Vinyl.
  2. And on reflection, if you are going to call yourself that, how the hell did you get away with having the bridge of your biggest hit be: "I'm going to come without waaaaarning!"
  3. Plus the politics, leetle beet?
  4. Cock Robin -- Cock Robin Vinyl. Everybody loves 80s power Cock.
  5. I'm just at a loss as to why this apparently grinds your gears so much, Beefy? No one around these parts has made any extravagant claims for Amarra other than that it definitely does something to the sound that some of us like and some of us don't. Dreadhead couldn't stand it at CanJam, as I recall, but he could certainly hear the effect. To me it's just a straight preference issue, rather than some stereotypical audio horseshit like claiming to be able to detect the sonic differences between two types of sheathing over the same IC cable.
  6. Something something suck him dry something something.
  7. Fine Young Cannibals -- The Raw And The Cooked Vinyl. Damn this is a good record.
  8. Boom. Head(phone)shot.
  9. -- Stephenson's "Snow Crash" -- William Gibson's Sprawl Trilogy -- Gene Wolfe, "Book Of The New Sun" -- Michael Swanwick, "Stations Of The Tide" -- Iain Banks, "Consider Phlebas" -- Dan Simmons, The Hyperion Cantos -- M. John Harrison, "Viriconium" -- Robert Silverberg, "Lord Valentine's Castle" -- Tim Powers, "Last Call." -- Joe Haldeman, "The Forever War" -- James Morrow, "This Is The Way The World Ends" -- Ken MacLeod's Fall Revolution series. I could go on and on but know that others will...
  10. Bolzano Villetri Campanili Series Torre omnidirectionals. Here in surround configuration with center channel and subwoofer.
  11. Gentlemen, you can't fight in here. This is the War Room! I like Amarra with the Ayre, too. No idea what it actually does, but the audible effect -- to me -- is to ameliorate the slight harshness of digital source material and to an extent ape the more organic sound I get from the pure analog chain. Minus surface noise etc. tl;dr -- it's well smoove, innit?
  12. A Flock Of Seagulls -- Listen Vinyl.
  13. Bring a warm coat, gloves and a hat and do the Freedom Trail. The Freedom Trail Foundation The NE Aquarium is cool if you like sea life. Have lunch in the North End and get a cannoli from Mike's or Modern afterward. Wander around Harvard Yard. Meet me for beer.
  14. What sort of things do you like to do when you travel?
  15. I think the data center is more about just getting your iShit up in the cloud. All your photos, music, tv shows etc. accessible anytime anywhere on your iPod, iPad or iPhone. Jobs kept hammering on about how "Apple is the world's largest mobile company." Can't get much more mobile than that.
  16. The BAT 3-series do not have a balanced tape out, do they?
  17. Bison filet with asparagus and buttery mashed potatoes.
  18. Pass Labs X2.5. You'd have to find one used. The newer Pass preamps do not have a balanced loop out. http://www.passlabs.com/pdf/old%20product%20manuals/x2.5_om.pdf EDIT: Looks like the Aleph-P would work too. Those come up on A'gon quite often. http://www.hififever.com/forum/files/apman_134.pdf
  19. Ham and egg sandwich. Om nom nom.
  20. Yup. They are Dallas IIs.
  21. You guys are going to keep harping on about this, aren't you?
  22. Heh. The client is fully able to repel such advances herself. The headache is attributable to some Belgian monks and Scottish distillers.
  23. Woke up with a headache. I forgot about that part.
  24. This is just a frickin' cool room, period!
  25. Fraser Speirs - Blog - FutureShock A good read. And the comments are uncommonly lucid, for the most part.
