Thanks Tom. I'm really happy with it and (he says foolishly) think my TT upgrade lust is sated for a good while -- likely until I can afford an Avid, which won't be anytime soon! Starting to think about looking for a new cart to try out, though. Any of you lads have strong opinions about particular options in the $1K (used) category? I've been keeping an eye out for a Shelter 7000 or Benz Ruby, but am very much open to suggestions.

I've never had a chance to swap just the turntable before, while keeping everything else the same. It's pretty mind-blowing how much of a difference there is in the sound of the two.

Roughly set up the new OL turntable and just now giving it a first spin. Initial impression -- BIG dynamics compared to the Gyro.

You can get a Sony XA-5400ES for under $1,000 used and not much more than that new, if you scout around. It is an excellent player.
