  1. Heh. The old "I'm a PC, I'm a Mac" ads have been tired for a while, but they've come up with just the right one-two combo for the Windows 7 launch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiU1Gu14xG0
  2. Bow chicka wow wow.
  3. Happy Birthday!
  4. A little tidbit from the good folks at MacMiniColo that may make some of you happy.

  6. I bet either the dealer or JP set up yours. Admit it!
  7. If the car wasn't worth much and the PoPo weren't involved, it might be best not to mention this unpleasantness to the insurance company at all?
  8. Well that sucks. So what actually happened?
  9. Pics or (more) ban.

25 miles is a lot further down here in the civilized world, Grizzly.
  11. I had both running off a GS-1, and I approve this message. You could stop there and be happy forever. I marginally favored the 600s, but it's a personal preference.

Wow I wish we had a Costco. BJ's suck, no pun intended.
  15. Yeah, so, turntables are definitely best set up stone cold sober. Got the cart aligned much better today and the surface noise is now even across the record (and substantially diminished overall).
  16. Red team, epic win!
  17. Thanks Ari. I set up somewhat hastily with the Rega template from the box and probably need to do a little more tweaking.
  18. Any particular reason why LPs might relatively consistently have more surface noise on the first few tracks of each album side versus the last few? Poor cartridge setup? Sorry, still figuring this out as I go along.
  19. Jane's Addiction -- Nothing's Shocking Rhino vinyl. Now out of vinyl. Need more vinyl. If only one could buy this sort of stuff online!
  20. Sorry, progress, you understand. Dan will be happy to cart it away for you.
  21. Joy Division -- Unknown Pleasures Vinyl
  22. Lucky Snowy supports up to 16TB then, eh? I can see it now -- "Keep your iTunes library in RAM. Latency begone!"
  23. Yeah, because "buy behind the curve" is such popular advice in these parts!
  24. The Dead Weather -- Horehound Vinyl.
  25. Yes, perhaps vintage, ultra low-mass Japanese tonearms with twitchy cueing are not the way to go then.
