Brent to be honest the hills around where I am thinking are pretty much ever present so I would think that you should be riding pretty regularly before hand. There will be at least one ascent of Caesar's Head (12km of 5.8%) and I would also like to drive to Ashville one day and do Mt. Mitchell. I would also like to do the US Nationals loop including Paris mountain. That said I'm sure we can work out some more moderate routes over 1 or 2 days. At the beginning maybe to get the juices flowing. I was thinking something like this for the "epic" day: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3810785

Would anyone be interested in 4-5 days of riding near Greenville SC in March. I am thinking of heading down there to do some riding and if someone wants to join that could be cool. I will be riding road but there is good mountain biking too.

Another 1:45 today in wetter weather. Stayed dry until the heavens opened at 3 minutes before I arrived home. I also learned how relatively crap the breaking is on the Mad Fibers in the wet. I guess now they've gone belly up and I won't get any support anyway I can try some other pads. I need to install my crank arms on my power meter but I just haven't gotten to it. Maybe on the 26th.

So I may be getting my money back on my bike. Bummer but I am not sure I want to wait months.

I thought they had that already. That is why I still don't have a cyclecross bike.

A friend of a friend created this method to avoid safety pins when putting numbers on your jerseys: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/racedots. I got in when it opened but the big news is that Team Sky has requested a few to try out (as they have been approved by the UCI). Would be awesome if a set ended up winning the yellow next year. Pretty neat Edit: Sorry for your troubles Justin and I hope you make good progress now you've started PT.

Nate if you want to borrow them to try them out that would be no problem

Fair point and I am well aware of the issues but considering in in thousands of hours of riding at this stage I've knocked a wheel out of true once I'm not too concerned.

^ That's pretty cool but not useful at all for me. So my current day-dreaming while code is running activity is looking at retardedly light wheels other than Mad Fiber (RIP ) I want to upgrade to 11 speed at some point so I'll need a 11 speed compatible system. Anyone intersted in some Neuvation C50 tubular wheels? I never use them. Cheap

The civil war is probably a good option. I want to do JB Alpine Loop GF in 2014 which is near 12000ft: http://alpineloopgranfondo.com/routes/ Or we can get even more crazy: http://www.winthefight.org/granfondo/diabolical_double.htm Lots of options

SRAM Electronic finally spotted: http://www.bikerumor.com/2013/12/10/prototype-electronic-sram-red-drivetrain-spotted/ I wonder when it will come out. I don't know but I do know that the Calfee will almost certainly get upgraded to it once it's out of the OEM only phase and available with the hydraulic rim braking system (I have no interest in disc brakes for road).

Raffy why don't you come here instead? There are tons of options

Thanks for the heads up. I have two of those derailleurs but neither are in the range of serial numbers.

I will host another lake house weekend in the spring and maybe again in late summer if that's of interest to the out of town crew. I doubt I'll be making NYC but maybe. I just don't really want to ride up there but I do know the company is awesome so maybe

Jeff you should just shoot out their tires. It's Florida: you can say you felt threatened by them and you'd be fine
