  1. Hey Frank. There is lots of new stuff for you to try. Will you be with or without posse?
  2. Doubtful. CJ, while the look of the speaker is important and everyone has differing tastes in that regard, if there is enough of an improvement in sq, isn't that what counts? I could see you saying, something like the Rangers look better but your comment was just dissing them without any comment. When I first saw your response on my iphone in email, I said wtf, did he become a speaker expert all of a sudden which I think was Voltron's reaction based upon his response. It's comments like that that rub people the wrong way.
  3. I agree as well. I was not impressed by the PS1000. I also prefer bowls with the HF2.
  4. Here is what I've been lusting over recently. They are Salk HT-3's:
  5. I found one for $750. It's a lot of money but you make it up in the first year after canceling the land line.
  6. Nate, here is an '07 Amazon review from someone in NH using the YX510-PCS-CEL Dual-Band Cell Phone-Signal Booster: Recently we decided to do away with our telephone landline and go completely wireless. We had some trouble getting a cellular signal at certain places in the house and this product seemed like it would be a good way to bring better signal to those areas. Unfortunately we quickly found, that though this product does in fact do a fine job of repeating a stronger signal to a weak area, the range of the "Hot Spot" is not even close to what it advertises. We found that even with the antenna pulling in 4 solid bars from outside, unless you were practically sitting on top of the wireless extender you just wouldn't get any improvement. What's more is it seems that there are certain "Blind spots" around the device that don't get any improvement. To give it a fair shot, we experimented with several different transmitter locations and found that the best we could achieve is about a 10x10 sq foot zone with the transmitter in the middle. And of course this location was about the most intrusive (smack in the middle of the kitchen counter). If you put it near a wall or a corner you lose about half of the possible output. We found no reasonably acceptable solution with this product. I have a fairly small split level ranch home (1200 sq feet), and had hoped that I could reliably cover at least the upper level, but in reality, I was only able to get an extended signal in about half of my small 10x18 kitchen. This is not even close to the 10,000 square feet of coverage advertised in the product description If this product were MUCH cheaper I could accept the performance for what it is, but at $300 plus it is not worth the minor improvement it offers to a limited area. We basically felt as if the limitation in range was tying us to an old corded phone, which is hardly a step forward in wireless technology. Personally I wouldn't pay more than $79 for this product. I returned mine for a refund.
  7. Happy Birthday David!
  8. I need to check into this but now that you mention it, I think you are correct. I believe with a cell phone even if you don't pay for service, you can still call 911.
  9. I get a decent signal in the house. My concern with canceling my land line is for 911 calls. With the land line, you call 911, they know where you are and if you hang up, they will follow up. I don't believe it works the same way with a cell phone. I'd be interested in hearing about a repeater. While my connection in the house is tolerable, it would be great if I could increase the signal.
  10. Davie, FL
  11. It said delivery between 6/24 and 6/27.
  12. iPhone 3G S. Arrives sometime next week.
  13. I want to pick one up tomorrow but I'm not sure I want to deal with lines at the local ATT store. I don't know what to expect. I will probably leave a little early and drive by to see how bad it is. Otherwise, I will order from Apple and wait a week or so to get it.
  14. I will wait for you to post the ones worth knowing about.
  15. I want to be at your July 4 bbq. Just picked up a set of these because they looked cool: Teroforma
  16. That sucks. I will give it a try after work.
  17. This is only the beginning of your misery. Just wait until you are have to spend days in the parks in really hot and humid weather. There is nothing like it. I've been there with kids so many times that I've told my wife I will not return until we have grand children. Have fun!
  18. Tethering is great to have for those times when you need it. The xm/sirius app is now available. I hope it is more reliable than some of the other internet radio apps.
  19. Congrats on the house naaman! Greg, enjoy the trip. My 85 year old mom is 5 miles away. A second bottle of Rittenhouse Rye 23. Just tried some and it's pretty tasty.
  20. Friday, next week. I thought they wouldn't be done until the end of next week. If mine are ready earlier, then I will just wait for them to arrive the next day. If I have fit issues, I will drive up there when it's convenient.
  21. FIFM I'm hoping there is a chance mine are shipped Thursday, in which case I have them Friday. I will call on Wednesday. If both of ours are ready Friday, then a road trip may be in order.
  22. This is possible. I have a bad week next week with a day trip to Tallahassee on Tuesday and one to Pensacola on Thursday. I think I leave at 5:45 am and return at 10:30 pm so driving spending the next day in a car is not a pleasant prospect, with the exception of you being there, of course. If I did do this, I would want to leave pretty early so I can get back to the office in the afternoon.
  23. Tethering is great to have. I used to be able to do it with my Blackjack. I used the method on this site: [url=http://www.benm.at/2009/06/13/helpbenmat/]help.BenM.at - Mobileconfigs f
  24. This is a great day for me. I can upgrade to the new 3G S since I am a July renewal (sorry Reks) and more importantly, I got tethering to work.
  25. 3.0 installed. Unable to connect bluetooth to my daughters mac so tethering did not work. I did download the settings needed for tethering. I will try again tonight with my mac.
