What did you do today?
My streak of bad luck continues this month. On my way to work this morning I was approaching a green light when traffic in the inside lane slowed and stopped. I slowed down from 55 to about 45 and looked for what all the fuss was about. I saw the flashing lights and heard the siren of the volunteer fireman just as his vehicle appeared in front of me in the intersection. I broadsided his pickup, spun around and came to a stop. Turned off my F250. Once I determined I had no serious injury I jumped out and ran to the other vehicle to see if he was okay. Fortunately, no serious injuries. They did transport him to the hospital as he was complaining of neck pain. Probably whiplash. I'm sore but okay. I'm amazed that even though the front of my truck took the brunt of the impact, my air bags did not deploy. The truck was towed to the body shop. Looks like the travel trailer and pickup will be repaired about the same time ... or not. Just glad no one had a serious injury

I thought about downloading that this morning. The teaser clips sounded quite good. How do you like it? Currently listening to Long Journey Home x Cowboy Junkies

What did you do today?
Went to see my Glaucoma specialist. The pressure in my eyes shot up 10 points in the last 4 months. He confirmed the eye pressue is very high and immediately pefomed laser surgery on my right eye (the one with the highest pressure). A little gravely feeling at first and the right eye has been weepy since the surgery but that will stop. Some eye drops to aid the healing and in two weeks I get to do the left eye. Dang, this thread has become a bit of a downer lately.

Sorry to hear that Fitz. I understand alcohol and pain killers make for a fine hangover. My condolences Brent. It's an especially sad day when there are no grand parents left.

Sorry to hear about the car. Happy you're okay! Re insurance here in the USA, only required to disclose claims that are actually submitted to an insurer. If you didn't submit a claim not sure what right they have to "know" about it?

Last night I listened to the NPR podcast of Moby. My first experience and enjoyable at that. Think I"ll order his latest album.

What did you do today?
Thanks for all your well wishes. Family is having a tough time today, but the funeral is over for my wife's uncle. They can now deal with her deceased aunt. As you might imagine, the surviving siblings (Mom Z and Uncle Jim) are both in shock, even today. Not surprising. I'm pretty sure as a courtesy to the family the home moved the body so as not to cause a scene during the visitation. No doubt whatever procedure needed to be followed was handled after the visitation. The aunt's arrangements will be handled tomorrow morning, which seems to me to be a good idea. An incredible series of events and a tragic loss for the family. Shock and awe pretty much describes the feeling.

What did you do today?
That is pretty much my thinking. Not really the time or place to ask too many questions, but apparently she was under hospice care, and as fate would have it, many of her hospice care providers were at the funeral visitation. Apparently their presence was enough to allow the home to keep her. I can't imagine the funeral home would keep a body they shouldn't have. But a rather confusing time last night, to say the least.

What did you do today?
Strange night. Went to a funeral visitation for one of wife's uncles. One of his sisters died in the parking lot before she got into the funeral home. They pulled a hearse around, loaded her up and drove to the back of the home. Apparently she has prepaid funeral arrangements with the same home. What were the odds of that happening? Two surviving siblings ... my mother-in-law and one of her brothers. As you might imagine they were both pretty stunned.

What did you do today?
I know it's been a good day grouse hunting when... 1. I HAVE to use 4-wheel drive to get to where I want to hunt 2. Water goes over the top of my boots while getting to the cover 3. The dog is working well without bells, beeper collars or use of the whistle Little bit of all those things today. Cover wasn't great, but Quest (my Gordon Setter) pointed a bird which flew out the opposite side of the dead fall. Pretty red phase grouse. Saw a grey phase bird flush wild at more than 100 yards while crossing the stream where the beaver dam used to be (yep, that's where water crested my boot top). Quest worked the cover to perfection, simply beautiful to watch. Three birds, one pointed and no shots possible. Much better than simply driving and looking for cover. One tired dog and worn hunter thinking about the day that was and dreaming about tomorrow.

Grouse camp continues to provide it's own set of surprises and thrills. I can be color blind in certain situations, such as red on a dark background. This worked against me as I can't see the red (read empty) on the propane tanks. The furnace stopped working at 5:00 a.m. (28 degrees) yesterday morning and I figured out I had two empty 30lb propane tanks. Didn't see the red so was not aware I needed to refill the tanks. This is a new location for me this year. Spent the day yesterday looking for appropriate habitat. Found 1000s of acres of jack pine which is great for the Kirtland Warbler, a protected species. Can find little evidence of the aspen bonasa umbellus prefers, but will keep searching. Spent time pouring over maps last night trying to determine logical locations to check out. Historically I'm not very good at this but we'll give it shot. I have seen white tailed deer and serveral wild turkey flocks. Fall colors are stunning. Have the campground almost to myself which I prefer. Life is good

Luxman P-200
This is trule of the P1 as well. I have not heard Senns on it, but the P1 had difficulty driving the K501 properly. The ATs especially have been a good match with the P1 and would think the P-200 as well.

That truly sucks! First the cut, then the long wait in ER. Wow! That must be some wound with the hacksaw. 7 stitches is a pretty large cut. Wishing you quick healing and fast recovery.
