Much like the Apple watch I feel like we're in the infancy of this type of tech and that there's going to be a lot of churn, updates, mid-cycle refreshes, flops, etc. as the kinks get worked out.  So

In the future you should just set an alarm through the app and the thing will start buzzing/vibrating making it easier to track down.

I have the Garmin Fenix 5 Sapphire and it mostly works.  Sleep tracking has never worked, seems to be a common issue, and the bluetooth connection to the app for automatic uploads gets screwed up a lot.  Everything else is decent and the battery life is awesome.  Getting weeks of use on a charge for a "smart" watch is pretty impressive to me.
