Yesterday at 01:25 AM1 day AnTek transformers are made in China.I purchased the AS‑4T400 (400VA, 400V) transformer and the AS‑3T350 (300VA, 350V) tube transformer to build the Blue Hawaii and Carbon amps. The cardboard packaging had “Made in China” labels, and some of them were partially peeled off.If I had known they were made in China, I might have bought them directly from Taobao.
Yesterday at 02:19 PM1 day Usually nothing wrong with Chinese product, unless you pay top dollar. The actual FOB price will be rather low - which is why most of everything now comes from China.Top UK brand toaster and kettle here are both China made. Goes on and on....
8 hours ago8 hr I'll have to look again but I don't recall any Made in China labels on any of the Antek transformers I have bought. Antek's pricing is quite reasonable, and their quality is good from my experience.
52 minutes ago52 min I don't think they ever hid that they were made in China but they are great transformers. Very consistent in quality which is hard to come by these days. Plus they oversize all of the cores so they run cooler and with less chance of any nasty behavior. As somebody that has ordered transformers in bulk from China, they stop being cheap very quickly once you ask for some proper specs or even worse... actual bloody copper in them.
