July 17, 200817 yr It seems like a rave party in Moscow left some rave goers partially blinded. It seems like someone that operated the lasers was powerful enough to be seen in the night sky aimed it down at the ravers Party laser 'blinds' Russian ravers - tech - 14 July 2008 - New Scientist Tech
July 17, 200817 yr That's what they got for not wearing their sunglasses at night. Yep, Corey Hart walked away without injury.
July 17, 200817 yr I work with lasers that have a comparatively tiny output (5-50mw) and I carry a pair of 532nm safety glasses in my kit. I make it a point to never scan the crowd with anything above 15mw (scanning) and keep all static beams 5 feet above the audience (DJs are scum and should know better.) I don't normally have to wear the goggles (they look like funky yellow shades), but they are there if I need them. I'm already blind in one eye, so why fuck around?
