Abrahamsen v6 DAC

Featured Replies

Is it just me or does anyone else think the name abrahamsen is bothersome? electrocompaniet or whatever it was sounded so sexy, especially with the font they used. Feels like the 50's metropolis futura thing.

There is a local store selling some of the Abrahamsen stuff (the CDP and integrated amp) and the build quality looks to be ok but I still haven't heard it. It's a store similar to BB so crappy rooms with crappy speakers.

I'm just dying laughing at their "high end cables" that use $1 Nuetrik plugs.

Hey, those are gullpleterte plugger av h

Sorry to up the thread, but does anyone here have any experience with it? I'm interested in getting one to replace my old DacMagic.

Thanks Ed, I became aware of it last week and became really interested. The issue is that it's a lot over my budget... I'm actually only contemplating this replacement because there's a pretty good opportunity here in Brazil in a pretty much brand-new unit!

Guess I'll do it and report back to those who may still be interested in it! :)

It'll be interesting to compare it to the living-room's ECD-1.

Initial impressions are very good. Appears to be quite impressive for what is basically a budget DAC nowadays, offering the same tonal balance as the ECD-1 (a lot smoother than my DacMagic, with much less high-mids). Pretty nice!
