It may possibly come to pass that I could soon be the owner of an EA Denon 9200. It will come with one EL34 tube, so I'll need to get a matched pair of tubes and fit them before I will hear it.

The winged C SED EL34 are a much better sounding tube than the EHs. I like the EH 6CA7 alot too. Of the new production tubes I have tried these two are the ones i like the best. I rate them even and the EH 6ca7 are a little cheaper than the winged c.

p.s. The first amp this will feed is my ckkIII (with donuts), once the beta22 reappears, the beta22 will probably be my main amp.

denon 9200? didn't know such a thing existed, if you mean the exemplar 2900 it sure as hell doesn't use EL-34s.....

Thats what I thought too? but i figured maybe Exemplar did some old denon amp I hadnt heard of. But after his last post ( he says it will feed a beta 22) he must mean the 2900. No way is he going to fit EL34s in there. )

Amperex pinched waist 7062 are considered to be the best tubes for this. I bought my eXemplar 2900 from jp#'s and he also recommended Phillips 7062 tubes. I've only listened to the former and they work well for me.

Another vote for Amperex PW 7062. I'm using that with great results on both the Exemplar 2900 and 5910.

It has come with a new pair of Amperex 7062 PQ and is sounding very good
