  1. Pick me please!
  2. (Al is) mostly complaining about having to spend too much time in Houston. j/k He is pretty busy with work and family. So is the 1942 Anejo worth is at $100? I am very curious, it has very good reviews. Marc: Let me know when you are in Houston (if you have time to hang out and are not with the family). We should meet up for lunch/drinks/coffee/etc.
  3. Al, your posts are making me want to abandon post and head to Maui right now!
  4. Nice haul Jim!
  5. That pic is awesome!
  6. Seems perfectly reasonable. Have fun Ric!
  7. Interesting twist to the Sazerac Jim.... although I think you will have to call it something new like a Vieux Sazerac if you add cognac to it. That Red Hook is win Marc.
  8. Earlier I had dinner with pabbi1 at a local a mexican restaurant and had a Don Julio Reposado + Grand Marnier + lime juice margarita. It was rather delicious I bought a bottle of Don Julio Anejo on the way home (no Clement stuff at that little store though). This stuff if really nice and very smooth. Currently: 2 oz Don Julio Anejo 1 oz Gran Gala 1/2 oz lime juice An excellent drink. Next time, I think I will cut the Gran Gala down to 1/2-3/4 oz with this tequila though just to get more of its flavor. Also, I will be sure to find sipping time for this tequila.
  9. Impressive selection of cocktail Al. I'll have to remember that hotel when I visit Munich!
  10. Looks good Jim, let us know how you like them.
  11. Margaritas. Welcome back Jim!
  12. Happy Birthday Birgir!!!
  13. Happy Birthday Mike!!!
  14. I just made some margaritas with Gran Gala and Cointreau with a 2:1:1 ratio (plus 1/2 tsp simple syrup). Yep, the Gran Gala is much better. These are awesome.
  15. Where do you find the 15oz cans of Sprite?
  16. ^This may be a better recipe; without the extra lime (3:1 tequila to lime ratio) instead of a 3:2ratio, I probably wouldn't need to add the agave syrup. But I do like the extra lime bite and the bit of sweetness from the agave syrup. Definitely *no salt*
  17. I have been using: 3/2 oz tequila 1/2 oz Cointreau or orange liqueur of choice 3/4 oz lime A small amount (one "squirt") of agave syrup (depends on how sweet you like it, sometimes I put more or less depending on how tart the lime is), I usually don't measure but I should - some leave this out or use simple syrup add a 2 ice cubes and shake or stir
  18. For the Hornitas fans, Blanco or Reposado?
  19. You will have to wait one more day as I have failed to conduct my scientific experiment (I had a Manhattan instead).
  20. Always a good choice!
  21. Headed to the store for limes right now!
  22. I am trying to figure out what bags to use for Maui. I was thinking of using the Gator/Mountainsmith Cube for a Camera/Ipad bag but I may go with a Think tank Digital Holster + Pro Speed Belt for the camera so I don't have to have so much weight on one shoulder when hiking. Unfortunately, I think we are going to have to check some bags and I am not so keen on checking any of the Tom Bihn and Red Oxx bags (because of the way they treat them). I may take the Sun Chaser on board with some clothes in case of lost luggage. It should also be good for taking to the beach. I don't know why I am writing this, I guess I am just thinking "outloud." Oh yeah, the Absolute Strap so really so much better than the Claw.
  23. Quite the contrary, the game was very close the entire time which was fun. Too bad Wallace made an error giving the Sox their first run - I would have been nice to Lyles win a game, poor kid. The weird thing about the game was how many Red Sox fans were there. I would guess about 1/3 of the fans were RS fans. I think they might have been louder than the home fans.
  24. St Arnold Amber at the Red Sox @ Astros game
