  1. I want to get some of that!
  2. No pun intended? Seriously, that sucks and is scary.
  3. Did you finish "Vintage Spirits and Forgotten Cocktails?" I just checked and I still have 49 left to go on Anvil! I am kinda slow.
  4. Fade to Black - yummy indeed Will do, thanks!
  5. I bought a six pack of Left Hand Fade to Black Vol II "smoked baltic porter" today and I would like to be drinking one right now... but I have to go pick up our seminar speaker so it will have to wait.
  6. Raffy: I love the Pappy 20yr! Good buy. I'll pick up some Sprecher's Ginger Soda today - they carry it at the grocery store where I shop. I have liked all their other sodas.
  7. Back to the Anvil List tonight. I got some Ginger Beer and planned to make all three cocktails calling for Ginger Beer but didn't have any fresh mint so I couldn't make the Gin Gin Mule. Didn't really love either of the drinks I made with the Ginger Beer but I am becoming quite convinced that I just don't like ginger in my drinks. Anvil # 30 El Diablo 1.5 oz Casa Noble Crystal Tequila 1/2 oz. Creme de Cassis 1/2 Lime Top off with Ginger Beer Anvil #89 Suffering Bastard 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice 1/2 oz Eagle Rare 10yr Bourbon 1/2 oz Old Raj Gin 1 dash Angostura Bitters 2 oz Ginger Beer I didn't end up drinking either of the last two drinks so I decided to make another. Anvil #66 Paradise 1 oz Old Raj Gin 1/2 oz Rothman and Winter Orchard Apricot 1/2 oz fresh squeezed orange juice 1 dash fresh squeezed lemon juice While this drink wasn't anything spectacular, it was certainly drinkable and I could see myself making another in the future.
  8. Beds are good... for sleeping and stuff like that.
  9. Not sure what you mean by purselike. I usually carry it over one shoulder but it doesn't look like a woman's purse. Here are a couple of really bad photos to give you a better idea of the size. It seems that I don't know how to take pictures in a mirror... really I just don't know how to take pictures at all. ]
  10. That looks very good Marc! I am enjoying a large pour of Caol Ila 12yr, cheers!
  11. I could see that. I have only really used the strap with the small/light copilot so far so this hasn't been a problem.
  12. You should try to find a 2007 then.
  13. With dinner, some 2007 Louis M. Martini Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon - thanks for the recommendation Greg.
  14. Sounds good Jim. Jacob: What kind of G?
  15. Having an old chub on the porch waiting for the BBQ... life doesn't really get much better than this. I need to try that Two Brothers IPA, wonder if they have it at the Gingerman here...
  16. Those accreditation people are serious... seriously no fun!
  17. So true. I wonder if I can get away using fuckface in my own classroom now that I have tenure?
  18. Just wanted to say that I really love the Bihn Co-Pilot with the Absolute Strap. I thought it would look too much like I was carrying around a small luggage but it is quite stylish. It is the perfect size and weight for me to carry around with me everywhere (easily carries the ipad, an 8.5x11 pad a paper, others papers that I am reading/grading/editing, ipod, JH13, Ray-Bans, wallet, water bottle, knife, pens, etc with no bulging. [i really wish they made one for a 13"/15" Macbook Pros for those times I need my laptop.] You should get one Dinny.
  19. Heehee, that reminds me of my favorite math clip.
  20. Mikey: Sorry to hear about your friend's Grandma but that is one heck of a scotch (I would assume)! Greg: You know what Miller Light tastes like??? Shame on you. I am back to the Anvil list again after a bit of a break (not by choice). Anvil #21: Corn N' Oil 2 oz Blackstrap Rum (didn't have Blackstrap so I substituted Zacapa) 1/4 oz Velvet Falernum 1/4 lime 2 dashes Angostura bitters In case you do not remember, I recently bought some Falernum so I could make a couple more drinks on the Anvil list. The first one I tried was "Rum Swizzle." I wasn't too fond of it and thought it was probably due to the ginger in the Velvet Falernum. Tonight and tried the Corn N' Oil and it wasn't horrible but I also didn't like it very much. Next drink: Anvil #10: Blinker 1oz Sazerac Rye 1/2 oz fresh squeezed grapefruit juice 1/2 tsp Monin Raspberry syrup This is really good! I could drink a lot of these. Yum.
  21. I hate you... I am usually asleep within 2-3 hours.
  22. Good choice. Best news I have heard all day! I do still want to try this even though you don't seem to be very impressed by it. I decided it was a nice day to open up a bottle of Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary Fritz & Ken Stout Ale - turns out that was a good decision.
