Hey, I was just looking a little closer ... this thing won't fit in my laptop, will it? Dammit! Or will it? It's 2.5" SATA, but it looks different. Anyone know?

Ok, sold. 64GB for $134.99. I already have a 500GB external drive for my backups and big file storage. Better be fast. Jimmy John's commercial fast. I expect time dilation.

I've seen 64GB SSDs on Newegg for under $150, and can do fine with that, esp with an external drive to back that up for bigger storage.

Is there a consensus that a SSD makes a truly big difference in actual computing experience and use (not just numbers and rating scales) over a regular HD? Dell is swapping my old, crappy, and defective laptop for another old, crappy but hopefully not defective laptop. In light of the need to configure a new computer, this would be a good time for me to get a SSD drive, if it really makes a difference.

Apple Tablet
These all look cool. But it would be nice to know how much they really weigh, plus I'd want to be able to open it up like a tablet if I didn't need the keyboard. I wouldn't want to have to remove the iPad. It'll be nice when they are all released and you can actually see them and read other's experiences.

I believe it would usually NOT state 'directional' in the specs. Plus there would NOT be an arrow on the side of the tire telling you which way the tires should roll. I don't usually see specs that specifically state 'bidirectional', because tires are usually bidirectional unless stated otherwise. I don't think 'symmetrical' is quite the same - this refers more to the tire pattern being the same back and forth across the tire. But I'd think most non-directional tires would have to be symmetrical, wouldn't it?

Apple Tablet
Makes sense. Here's the other one that looked interesting. It has a soft case, so might be a lot more portable, but maybe not so stable. KeyCase iPad Folio Deluxe with Bluetooth Keyboard - Black - GearZap.com

Well, last week they had a shot of gummi worms in flavored corn syrup. They like 'kid wine', which is what we call sparkling cider. Sometimes we take a glass of milk, then squeeze a shot of chocolate syrup in there for them. I'll save a gummi worm shot for you! And we have lots of buckets, in case you get sick.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind. I was given no choice in the matter and they couldn't tell me what I'd get. But I do have a dock for the Latitude so kind of hope I get a Latitude of some sort. Just one with a different video card.

Great, thanks, Jim! Just had my first Sazerac last night while out at a restaurant; they actually had it listed on the menu. Pretty darn tasty! I look forward to the HC version!

Wow! Just got Dell to agree to exchange my Latitude D630 with a chronically overheating Nvidia NVS 135M video card. They'll replace it with 'a newer model with equal or better specs and a different video card.' I hope I'm not jumping out of the pot and into the fire, though! Must have been the threat to come at them with a broken bottle! I am about to send it in for the third time in less than two years for repair. The first two times they replaced the entire motherboard, the first time for a bad video card, the second time for a wifi card that stopped working, and now it keeps typing the number 4 no matter what I do, and diagnostics is sending an error code for something video related (can't recall the details). Also, after reading about the video card overheating problems the first time, I downloaded a temperature monitor and the GPU routinely spikes to 70-85 degrees Celsius when running a second monitor (which is almost all the time). It would probably go higher, but I disable the second monitor and close any flash programs, and it immediately drops back to 50-60C. I already have a pretty good laptop cooler. This is very disruptive to what I'm doing at the time. I just saw that nvidia is about to settle a class action suit on this matter: The NVIDIA GPU Litigation - Home Page This probably helped my case a bit ... thanks, lawyers! And thanks to broken bottle suggesters!
