Most of my friends left eMusic 7ish years ago when they were bought out and changed their pricing structure away from unlimited downloads. Their membership numbers though significantly grew as they added labels. Greater selection with higher price won out. Seems about the same move here.

Just got an email from Mosaic Records and they mentioned the Jazz Record Collectors’ Bash next weekend. Thought those around New Jersey may be interested. Make sure to watch "Ghost World" beforehand.

In the end I placed three orders, including suggestions made by some of you. Thanks again. The below were all $5.98 SACDs (though there was a freebie in the largest order). If you're interested in any of the below, the search seems to work much better with titles than artists. The Modern Jazz Quartet Django PRSA-7057-6 Various Artists Amadeus 2WAMSA-1791-6 Ray Charles & The Count Basie Orchestra Ray Sings, Basie Swings 63679 McCoy Tyner Illuminations 63599 McCoy Tyner Land Of Giants 63576 Chet Baker In New York RISA-1119-6 Ladysmith Black Mambazo Long Walk To Freedom HUSA9109 Paavo Jarvi & Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Berlioz: Symphonie Fantastique, Op. 14 / Love Scene From Romeo And Juliette 60578 Michel Camilo Rhapsody In Blue 63611 Ray Charles Genius Loves Company SACD-1033-6 Lang Lang Rachmaninoff: Piano Concerto No. 3 / Scriabin: Etudes 60582 Tierney Sutton Dancing In The Dark 63592 Leonard Slatkin & Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra Mahler: Symphony No. 2 "Resurrection" 60081 Jacques Loussier Impressions On Chopin's Nocturnes 63602 Paavo Jarvi & Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Dvorak: Symphony No. 9 "From The New World" / Martinu: Symphony No. 2 60616 Mel Torme And George Shearing A Vintage Year SACD-1026-6 Monica Mancini Ultimate Mancini SACD-1034-6 Paavo Jarvi & Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Prokofiev: Lieutenant Kije Suite and Symphony No. 5 60683 Paavo Jarvi & Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Debussy: Prelude a l'apres-midi d'un faune/Nocturnes/La Mer/Berceuse Heroique 60617 Wynton Kelly Kelly Blue RISA-1142-6 Gerry Mulligan & Thelonious Monk Mulligan Meets Monk And thanks jinp. That list helped much.

Okay, my eyes could be decieving me, but I think they're changing the prices ad hoc. I believe an item I added increased at check-out. Anyway if you go through each category listed on top, then 'See All' from right of page, then 'Quick Search' on SACD you get a listing. Add as many as you're interested in, check cart for actual price, and check out fast. Now I just need a SACD player.

I just added "The Modern Jazz Quartet: Django" (interestingly had to search off title, not artist) and although listed at $18.98, when it ends up in the cart it drops to $5.98. I think postjack is on to something.

The blog entry pointing to the sale has now been removed also.

Maybe as the search and listings are having problems, we post what we found in case others are interested in the same titles? You may not have received an email receipt yet (I didn't), but "your account" shows the order. I picked up SACDs (all $5.98 and I'm hoping all hybrid): The Modern Jazz Quartet: Django - PRSA-7057-6 Ray Charles & The Count Basie Orchestra: Ray Sings, Basie Swings - 63679 McCoy Tyner: Illuminations - 63599 McCoy Tyner: Land Of Giants - 63576

Thanks. Yeah a whole section was listed (under Special Offers on right side next to Box-Set Collection) now gone. Thanks for the search tip.

Did the link or promos just change? I only see box-sets listed now though SACD sale listed here - http://www.concordmusicgroup.com/special-offers/

Thanks also dee. Care to describe that shit a bit though? Been waiting on another refurb sale for a while, though I should avoid if it's really that bad.

Maybe wanting both the product and the product improved.

All signs seems to be CBS, but can't imagine this is a good sign. Doesn't exactly seem like a 'begin.'
-
Damn, yes I did miss that. If anyone is trying to sell one or two let me know.
-
Yeah, I sadly just realized that too. Still it could be worse.

In case anyone is looking for really cheap earbuds for a relative, etc. Sony Fontopia Earbuds with detaching cord $4 - dealmac.com

Ah. Just picked up from the library "Come Dream with Me" and "The Lovers, the Dreamers and Me" earlier today.

And then there was a certain [don't want to be sued] individual and his treatment of the cafe hostess who resisted seating his entourage after closing. Could someone remind me who was the guy selling Blu-ray audio discs (had Smyth tech at booth)?

Anyone compare the Carat-Topaz (currently $299) or Emerald against the Compass, Pico, etc.? Kinda dug the size, RCAs, and 1/4" jack. Didn't have any phones available I was familiar with at CJ though.

The HF2s are very much Grados sonically if you consider all other Grados Grados. Certainly the GS1K deviates far more than HF2. I'd focus on what you prefer about the 325 over the MS1 (or if you've heard the 225 and HF1). There are darker cans in the series and the 325 is on the other side of that characteristic, but like a great deal of the comments about the HF1, the differences of the HF2 are exaggerated. Many are commenting over on the other site about the HF2s being more balanced than the RS1s, which wasn't my experience on a variety of gear at CJ. Course you also have the similar sounding to each other ATs, so you know the drill.

Anyone considering picking one up for their HF2s?
