  1. OMG. How did I not know about this and him? Thank you. Plowing through the Riz Ortolani YT channel now.

  3. Python Script Remix Vol.10 - Sonic Youth “This mix is part of our "Python Script Remix" ongoing series. Process : 1. First we made a parallel mix of the 13 tracks from Sonic Youth's album "Goodbye 20th Century" (released in 1999 on Sonic Youth Records). 2. Then we applied various effects to the mix through a Python script, such as a subtle pitch shift with extended feedback, a slow time-stretch with noise-heavy textures, a slow spectral feedback, a smooth saturation with harmonic enhancement, a natural high-pass filter, a wide low-pass filter, a soft EQ, a slow spatialization with noise-based trajectories, a transparent limiter and a fade out. This remix is conceived as a spectral extension of "Goodbye 20th Century", it is a work of amplification, stretching, densification, and slow spatialization, yet without altering the original aesthetic.”
  4. Thanks for the timing reminder. No biggie if you miss Bust. Fraenkel Gallery isn’t far.
  5. Here’s one of my secrets - I’ll take Coltrane and Bill Evans over Miles Davis any day. That’s probably little to do with the artists, but damn is this album great (the cover art is not)
  6. Can’t wait. Did you also see the Boom and Bust photo exhibit? If so, how was it?
  7. ^ Agreed and nice fall off. Visiting my dad and hit a nearby car show last weekend. And by car show I mean a car. Rain threatened the event so only a 1974 Challenger 383 Four Barrel was left when I showed hours before the scheduled end. Quick tests of the used Hassy 55v f/2.5 I recently picked up. Much to learn.

Not to keep pushing The Rest Is History, but they have a four-part series on the Ku Klux Klan that is quite informative. https://therestishistory.com/episodes/the-rise-of-evil-part-1 https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-rest-is-history/id1537788786?i=1000755744707

  13. I’m not sure, but probably not as I never started For All Mankind. Same with the friend who encouraged me to try Star City (he instead talked about Chernobyl). Either way it’s likely the time period covered in the SC first season you’ve already seen in FAM. Its creators address “new” watchers below.

  16. Similarly we skipped Mountain View & the San Francisco Symphony and Santa Clara & the World Cup stragglers to head to the occasional DMZ of Milpitas. Not sure the band’s horns to pants ratio was correct.

  20. Yes, at least on Hulu/Disney+, though a little warning on the first few slower episodes as they prep for opening. Then the doors open. This season takes place over a single shift. Also keep in mind there is the stand alone flashback Gary episode released before the season. I've yet to see. More than any other show I judge The Bear on its successes, rather than its failures. I really can't think of a show like it. It's like Breaking Bad in reverse.

With the Big 4th of July approaching these were a fun listen.
