  1. Listening to a playlist I put together of my favorite album closing tracks. I've found myself really drawn to a lot of these songs lately and I don't know what it is, but artists really have a knack for closing out albums with some amazing songs. https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/closing-tracks/pl.u-qAqMtzX4e5 This playlist on shuffle rarely disappoints.
  2. It’s fantastic. Really exited to listen to it more.
  3. Just figured I'd share my experience making my own flavored latte syrup. Traditionally I've been a fan of Starbucks' Cinnamon Dolce lattes, but seemingly like everyone, they have significant shortages and have effectively discontinued them. This is also a syrup flavor that they no longer offer for sale in the stores, where you can only buy Classic or Vanilla. Looking for a change in what I've been making at home, I tracked down a recipe and I have to say that it's fantastic... Definitely preferable to store-bought. Flavor is a bit stronger, so I'm having to adjust and use less than I'm used to. 1/2 C water 3/4 C white sugar 1/4 C brown sugar 1 tsp cinnamon Combine in a small pot and bring to a gentle boil. Reduce heat and stir continuously, 3-5 minutes, until all granularity is gone and there is a slight reduction.
  4. Listened to this split between yesterday and today. Not at all what I would’ve expected after On Dark Horses, the Staying Power single and her collaborations with Thou. That said, it’s Emma Ruth Rundle, so it’s no surprise that it’s outstanding! Aimee Mann has not been someone I’ve revisited much since the Magnolia soundtrack, if I’m honest. But with more time to listen with my new job, I’ll dive in next week!
  5. I had been keeping an eye out for this but didn’t realize it came out today. Thanks!
  6. Moody Americana, I guess? Songs inspired by COVID lockdown marathons of Unsolved Mysteries, apparently. Always heard good things about her stuff but it never clicked for me. This album hit immediately.
  7. Marissa Nadler - The Path of the Clouds
  8. Kaelan Mikla - Undir Koldum Nordurljosum
  9. The Apple Music playlist Chelsea Wolfe Essentials. Love me some Chelsea Wolfe.
  10. Needless to say, this has been in heavy rotation with me, too. Right in my wheelhouse.
  11. I have a Chelsea Wolfe playlist that is just her entire catalog in order so I don’t have to select the next album, and some days I’ll just start at the beginning and let it go! I’m newer to Emma Ruth Rundle, but I love On Dark Horses and the collaborations with Thou.
  12. Chelsea Wolfe & Emma Ruth Rundle - Anhedonia I'm only mad it's just a single.
  13. Myrkur is great. Very varied catalog!
  14. Enjoyed the hell out of these: Just finished: And now waffling between a few options to follow up... And a few others...
  15. These two just turned two! They’re the best.
  16. I definitely screwed up the formatting... Think I fixed it. Everyone's doing well... Hope you're holding up well, too.
  17. Hi all. Long time, no post. Had to make sure I shared this... I know I posted the video of "Control" by A. A. Williams a ways back. Well, her first proper release is out and... Holy. Hell. A. A. Williams - Forever Blue Other than that, I've been obsessed with Deafheaven. I was reading end of decade Best-Of lists and Sunbather was listed. Hard to believe an album from 2013 can hit me so hard, but I've listened to that and Roads to Judah so much over the last year, it's probably unhealthy. "Tunnel of Trees" and "The Pecan Tree" fucking wreck me.
  18. Most fun thing I’ve seen in ages. https://youtu.be/eYf595EJAc4 The rest here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSF5mJTarQx3ER3MhiR5QoQ
  19. https://www.nme.com/news/music/chelsea-wolfe-dillinger-escape-plan-and-more-cover-ozzy-osbournes-crazy-train-in-isolation-2650771 This has been on repeat lately. The Halloween vibe and Chelsea Wolfe =
  20. Thanks everyone. I've been a bit of a Head Case dead beat. Birthday was great, thanks, and the family is doing well... Penelope turned 6 yesterday and Piper is 2. Kitty-Fi update, we lost Zoë this summer at almost 17, and recently picked up a bonded pair of 7 month old Siamese mix kitties. So things are largely good on the balance. Don't mind Piper's cast... She's fine! Nutella (L, female), and Marshmallow (R, male)
  21. I wasn't. I can't remember if that was right before or after Piper was born, but either way, I blame her!
  22. We missed her last time around. I'll have to see what we can do to make the January show in Boston. Thanks, I missed that she was coming back around.
