  1. edit: i'm an idiot as i recall, you are going toslink in from your RME card?? D2D-1 would definitely help.......... otoh I think if you hacked a nice BNC output on and used a reasonably lengthy BNC->BNC cable you'd be fine without!
  2. It's actually a 13W3 monitor cable, used in high-end computer workstations, predominantly in the '90s. Particularly common in Sun workstations. Yes, however the P3 tops out at 48KHz, and the D2D-1 will output at 96KHz if you want. Of course, it does have a 48KHz mode for the P3. My SFT-1 does not have a 13W3 "I2S-e" output. At the time you could send your SFT-1 into the factory to have the output added, cost was around $800 if I recall correctly. All Sonic Frontiers "Transport 3" transports do have the output. The D2D-1 is pretty neat. I actually really like what it does with all of my DACs. Plenty of debate on whether or not what it does is a Good Thing, but with the SFD-2 Mk.III especially, it seems to add a noticeable amount of depth and palpable-ness to the presentation. Compared to using it in transparent jitter-reduction-only mode, in 24/96 upsampling mode, it seems that each instrument is more clearly defined in its own space and allowed to pop out of a super black background...........
  3. Starting to assemble my dream bass guitar rig..... absolute power corrupts absolutely! YOU DID IT! Congrats!
  4. uh......can i just say....... Naim CD555 =
  5. Very nice. My second favourite Dire Straits album, after _Communique_... gotta love cranking "Private Investigations". Gave the '85 SPG a SERIOUS wash today. Lots of Steely Dan and shitty lager to fuel the endeavour.
  6. I think the radius really comes into play as well.
  7. Utopia - Oops! Wrong Planet (1977)

  11. Haha, I was thinking the same thing when I saw those beautiful pics!!
  12. Thanks for your replies and time, Rhydon. I appreciate and respect where you're coming from. I will toss this around in my head the rest of the day and sleep on it and make a decision tomorrow. Regards,
  13. Cool! One of my fav things about the SR325s is lack of boom in the lower registers. While they're not the last word in extension, I've always found the bass really enjoyable and tight. Assume MAGNUM just makes this moar better but along the same lines? Thanks,
  14. Different years, dear. I'd be more worried if I looked as old as monseigneur Kondrashin... edit: Michelangelo is in my little club as well
  15. Sweet! Would I be an eejit for wanting this done to my original SR325s? Sounds like it'll transform the bass but what about refinement up top? You charge Canadian customers in USD or is there a CAD price? Thanks Rhydon!
  16. hm, i spoke to kirill on my ouija board just now and he says you're a twat. oh and he has the same birthday as David Gilmour and I. w00t.
  17. yeah, they make it just for me to go with my white wallet and white dress shoes. looks great with nice raw denim or white jeans as well for true overkill!
