I can chime in here, not been around for a bit -so hey all. But I am a timepiece guy, too. Dusty, consider the Bambino from Orient. It is a dress piece with a bit more size to it, giving a more modern wearable look to it. The kit will come with an in-house movement and should present nicely for work and dress occasions. I would not go with a Nixon or Fossil, personally.

Adding on to what others have said, cassette adapters work great if you can get them to work with your car. Sometimes hitting the flip side button works to get the clicking to stop. As far as FM transmitters, I have tried over 20 of them and finally landed on one that I have used since 2008 with great success. It is the iRiver AFT 100. Works great. You can find them on eBay for BIN for $15-$25 now and again. Not sure if you can source locally but these units do work more consistently and with better sound quality.

I am planning to listen from the Slim/iPhone 4S and with my JH16 & 13. I remember speaking with Tyrion on the phone awhile back and he was enjoying the 13s/Slim combo, but I can't recall his source. I think it was the iPhone but am not sure. Anyone currently running a Pico Slim & iPhone 4/4S with JH customs?

Saw Andre Rieu at Jobing.com Arena with his 55-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra in Glendale, AZ. Traffic was a bear as the MNF game was next door VS the 'Niners but it was well worth it. Amazing atmosphere and music. What a show. If you have the chance to see Andre Rieu, go for it. I have been wanting to see him for a long time. Sorry for the poor quality pictures.

The Black Angels With Black Mountain - Clubhouse, AZ I was surprised to see The Black Angels open for Black Mountain VS the other way around. We bought the tickets presuming that the 'Angels' were headlining. Both bands played great, though I wish the set was longer for the 'Angels'. The Black Angels are a great, great live act. The sound was a bit off for the first song or two, however, they made the appropriate adjustments and it was dead-on for the rest of the show. They closed with 'Young Men Dead', awesome. I was disappointed that they cut-off the transcending end to 'Yellow Elevator #2' and did not play 'True Believers'. Those are both off their newest release, "Phosphene Dream", which the band played most of that night. Great overall show. I spoke with lead singer Alex Maas at length after their show and he explained that they were having issues with the live production on the end of 'Elevator #2' and in playing 'True Believers'. According to Maas, Black Mountain has the same booking agent as they do, so he too was not sure why they opened. Oh well. He also indicated that he and the band pleaded with the tour manager to play longer than their opening slot warranted. Black Mountain's new album sounded really nice live. It sounded much better and livelier than the album. They did not play enough from their self-titled release, though. I like the first two albums better than their newest album. Overall, I am bigger 'Angels' fan so I would have appreciated another 15-20 minutes of material to their set.

Ahh, that kind of makes sense now. I wonder if it was indeed 3D. I kept mentioning to my wife how realistic and three-dimensional everything looked. There were some scenes that were nothing short of rediculous. I even said that it was practically worth it to just watch the movie with music playing. Have never seen such effort put into the video content of a live stage show, uber cool - that. All in all it was an epic show with great musical performances, production & creativity. Muse had an elaborate stage show as well as AC/DC, among others.

Nope, saw no people wearing 3D glasses and no mention of it during, before or after the show. I looked around a good bit now and again and did see some interesting outfits, that was about it. The video screen seemed near HD clarity. A quick look on YouTube will show the quality of the video production and animation. It was awesome. There were songs containing mixed-media that were well done. The song "Stylo" featured a movie-like scene featuring Bruce Willis as the villain. Hoping they release a DVD of the tour. There was a lot going on visually with the show and I would not mind having another look and listen. They sounded better live than in the studio, the Gorillaz.

Saw Gorillaz at Comerica Theatre. The stage setup included a seven piece string section, the eight person Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, the National Orchestra for Arabic Music, four back up vocalists, two drummers, some keyboards, and one half of The Clash in guitarist Mick Jones and bassist Paul Simonon. Additional artists included in the show were De La Soul, Bobby Womack, Bootie Brown, and Little Dragon. N.E.R.D. opened. Mesmerizing show that proved to be very entertaining. They played pretty much everything people would have wanted to hear in a 27 song setlist spanning almost 2.5 hours. The show had epic stage production and energy with frequent artist changes and corresponding video content. Everyone was smiling and excited while exiting, it is fun to experience that at shows. The Syrian instrumental passage was just amazing to me and it was nice to see them play a piece of their own, and representing the music culture. The Middle-Eastern orchestra populated the seats to the right of the stage under the Gorillaz marquee and participated in the song 'White Flag'. We had a blast and our seats were superb. Sat in the front row balcony, dead center, just above the sound booth. We have been to many shows there and really like the seats in the balcony there. Distance from the stage is about 30-40 yards, brilliant seats. Here are some pictures, though taken from my cell phone. (poor quality) The last two pictures are borrowed from reviews online, as these provide better detail of the stage setup.

Been uber busy for awhile lately moving, good to be back. Still busy moving/getting settled, however, wanted to share some info about the concerts recently attended. I saw Menomena with Suckers recently, both bands were great. They played at Clubhouse in Tempe, AZ. This is a small venue and we we were able to get very close and have good sound. My wife and I hung out with the band for a nice time afterwards. They each signed my 'Friend or Foe' LP. Last weekend we went to Cricket Pavilion in Phoenix for the Jack Johnson show with G-Love & Special Sauce. Had an awesome time. We were just a few feet from the stage and the sound was keen. He covered 'The Joker' by Steve Miller Band. He also provided helpings of the Jackson 5's 'I Want You Back' and the Beatles' 'Don't Let Me Down' during the encore. It was just great. Jack and the band were laid back but in great form. He was personal as usual between and even during some singing. Check out some stuff from Hossam Ramzy, he is well known for Egyptian and belly dancing music. Please check out a few songs from this link, you can sample some of his work. There are a lot of wonderful movie scores that are overlooked, and encompass many genres of music as well. I am sure you have heard of these, but Gladiator, Transformers - The Score, and 300 are just great. Azam Ali (the Iranian female vocalist from the movie soundtrack '300') has some very beautiful albums. I think 'Portals of Grace' is excellent. Also, Lisa Gerrard (the Australian female vocalist from Gladiator and founding member of band Dead Can Dance) has several other soundtracks that she sings on. (i.e. Whalerider, A Thousand Roads) Dead Can Dance's albums are all great. .The MFSL SACD of 'SpiritChaser' is excellent. Perhaps a few of these artists.. My wife and I took in Cowboy Junkies at the Compound in Phoenix, AZ. I reserved a table months ago and it payed off. We were in the very front with the best seats in the house, just 4-5' from the band. The Compound Grille is an intimate setting and it was a perfect venue for their music. The sound quality was superb and the band was in great form. I was able to meet and chat with the band after the performance and have my MFSL LP 'Whites Off Earth Now' signed by each of the members. Also enjoyed talking music and scotch with Allen for a long while (bass player), it was his birthday that night.

I wondered about that auction. Let us know the condition of the gear when you receive it. Man, I missed your KGSS too. I have been trying to find a HeadAmp KGSS for a long time now. I owned one a few years ago and sold it as well.

Google featured a Pac Man 30th Anniversary icon game theme that is playable with your directional keys. Nice sound effects and music. Here is a video.. Pretty cool.

^ I could not agree more with Boom. Nice post. Certainly not for everyone are the 13's, however, I sure am getting use out of mine. They are brilliant.

I took in the Eagles show at US Airways on April 21'st in Phoenix. The show was great as was the sound quality. Highlights for me included the horn solo intro to Hotel California and the band featuring songs from each of the members' solo careers. The band did a very nice job representing the vast golden catalog they have built.

Ahh..I just found the clip that contains the Nirvana covers, a portion of 'School' and 'Nameless'. It is after 'Stockholm Syndrome', where the band was just ripping it up.. If interested, Here is the video to that clip with both Nirvana covers (where the clip above cuts off after Nirvana's 'School'), it was awesome to see. Here is another clip with the Piano, the song is 'United States of Eurasia'. I like the operatic tone of this track (reminding me of Queen), which is mixed with a little eastern influence heard in the refrain. It was very good live and is my favorite song off the new album, for what it is worth. Wondering if anyone else caught a leg of this show on the boards. Whether a fan or not, Muse really sounds great live and they put on quite a show.

I had superb seats at the Muse show this past Friday at US Airways Center, where the band killed it. It was an excellent show with over-the-top mind blowing effects and sound. There are plenty of youtube clips for the interested fans of Muse, I will link a few of them. The introduction and lead into the first song, 'Uprising', was nothing short of spectacular. ^ Here is one of the better of the angles and videos showing the intro, which was awe inspiring. The visual of the building lights going on and off, then of people making their way up stair cases, followed by people falling from the buildings and down the stairs produced a convincing spectacle with the video screens Muse employed. Giant covers come off the buildings and the band is playing 20-25' on platforms in the middle of the towers. Those platforms raised and lowered throughout the show. And later, the center pillar showcased a bass guitar and drum solo with a rotating platform. Here is a video clip of the bass guitar/drum solo. I thought the band's Nirvana cover of 'School / Nameless' and the 'Star Spangled Banner' were just great and I was not at all expecting to hear them. I cannot find a link to those videos, but it rocked out. The laser storm during 'New Born' was something to see from the seats we had, here is a clip from the floor where the sound quality of the camera used does not do the song justice. The idea of the lasers and lights in this clip is a better shown than I can describe, especially about half way through the song.. I also thought that Supermassive Black Hole was exceedingly brilliant live, below is a video with a nice straight on shot. And [/video is another video of 'Supermassive Black Hole' that captures the stage antics and the way the visuals were displayed differently on each building. Too bad there is some tool bag in this camera angle that sings along almost the whole song like some unstoppable moron. Thankfully, there were no such knobs near me singing out loud like that for the show. (nor teen girls screaming as loud as possible) The band really shredded it up during 'Stockholm Syndrome' too, here is a clip if you are interested in the aural mayhem they unleashed on us 'Zonie's. The visuals and guitar rips were so tasty during this song, it was epic. Here is a clip from the song 'The Resistance', the sound quality of the clip is not the greatest, but the video shows the great detail of the visuals shown on those large buildings. I really dug 'Feelin' Good' and the piano with the lights coming out of it. It was a nice touch with the mega-phone - too. That took me back to the STP concert days. ^ Here is the video. The quality of this clip below is very good, this is during the song 'Time is Running Out'. "] I had an outstanding time overall and my brain was on the ground for great portions of the show, it was a treat. I hope there is a DVD coming out of the Phoenix show or some stop on this tour, as the sound and visuals were nothing short of stunning. Good stuff.
