Some of it is the camera (and poor lighting when I took the pic). As noted earlier, though, the right earpiece is now noticeably darker than the left and I think it looks better darker.

On my iPod classic (80gb), I listen with volume shade above it all the way down. On my iPod Touch (2G), it's one or two clicks, depending on the file.

Random observation - I can listen to my iPod with its volume all the way down when using JH13.

I got my right ear refit back today. After a quick try, the fit is better, but the left ear still feels slightly better. I'll use them extensively the next couple of days, and hopefully, I won't have to send them back again. One really noticeable difference is that the color on the right ear piece is much darker now. Not a real big deal, but I was hoping they'd resolved their finish inconsistensies by now.

Looking good there, shelly! Makes me wish I had my refits back, and had a decent home amp for them. I'd tried them out with Duet's headphone out and the noise floor was rather high.

Lucky bastard. My refit's not getting here till Monday afternoon. After everything is said and done, the whole process (starting from sending in the initial impression) has taken over a month now. Hopefully, the refit will work well and I won't have to return them for another refit.

There's no cure for you, huh? On topic, I bought a big bottle of mineral oil for my countertops. Now I need to find somewhere that sells a big tub of beeswax.
