  1. This design would lend itself to a Frankenstein's monster's head really well.
  2. Sorry, but in the bay area this seems like any Saturday to me. OK, maybe the Queen is usually a man, but other than that...
  3. At this point the differences are subtle, but each successive layer gets me further along the non-stick pathway. A carbon steel pan will never release like a coated pan, but once you learn how to use it, it's very close. And I like knowing that I'm not slowly poisoning myself and others. And let's face it... Every non-stick pan has a limited life span. It's a disposable pan. I like the idea that my cookware could find it's second life with a Niece, Nephew or friend, and then on from there. I'm inline to inherit my Mom's cast iron pieces. They're numerous and I'll be the fourth generation to use them. That means more to me the older I get.
  4. Day 5.
  5. If you've ever ridden in one, it's a completely different experience than an aluminum boat. Or for Grahame, an aluminium boat. It's like going from a '67 Ford pickup to a 2022 Mercedes S class.
  6. Maximalism can get pretty hard. It just can't sustain it as long anymore.
  7. You're just jealous because I have more Birkenstocks and plaid than you. I don't however have any wool socks to wear with my Birkeys, so your lesbianship is under no threat. And I don't own a single bandana.
  8. Excellent! And the idea to swap the boards above and below the niche was spot on. Everything is proportionate and balanced now. I also love the simple look of the mantle, with the elegant tapered legs! Personally I would avoid staining. It never matches quite right, but I like how the lighter mantle kind of mimics the frame around the hearth tiles. Really nice design!
  9. So, zoodles and floodles?
  10. They are, and they're definitely Men's sandals. I have a friend that works at Birkenstock and gets me 50% off. I really like these sandals, though they're not great for putting in lots of miles at a time.
  11. Do you use a spiralizer tool?
  12. That '41 Chris Craft gives me wood.
  13. Day 4.
  14. So, two woodworkers, both with incredible skills. One known for reasonable deadlines, the other known for projects that span the length of Halley's comets orbit around the Earth. Both known for biting off a lot. One of them is flying to the other, with a project in mind. The project? A simple fireplace mantle. Timespan? A few days. Absolutely no news so far! Tune in next week for the dramatic next episode in our serial... "Here, hold my wood."
  15. Hmmm, I wonder if he'll stretch from Atlanta to Marin County? We can try that later, for now have a stupendous day Sir!
  16. Fair enough.
  17. I think the more interesting question is why are you eating at Denny's?
  18. Day 3 of seasoning.
  19. Sounds great! I'm just looking forward to a cheaper rate at the movie theater. It's 65 here, it was 55 in Texas. That's OK though. I'll happily wait the extra 10 years here in California. Haven't really checked into any other benefits besides Medicare.
  20. I'm being all butch again. Thursday dinner with Dorothy Corrin and Alden.
  21. I'm so old, I remember when he was a teenage prodigy.
  22. Hard to pinpoint exactly, but it's a Mahogany derivative of some type. Could be Sapele.
  23. ^ Maybe I need to buy a new knife too!
  24. Round two of seasoning. It's starting to get a nice, toasty Brown appearance. Just 9 more days of seasoning, before cooking some fried eggs!
  25. I expect to read in a few months... "More than 40 elected officials across Russia have been found to have been poisoned".
