  1. Thanks very much. That would be more consistent with what I perceived when I had the ECD-1. Here are more specs from the manual on the website (the only one I've seen). I wonder if it's a typo or if the revised the unit. Analog stage Output level (unbalanced).............................1,6 V Output level (balanced)..................................3,2 V Gain (unbalanced).........................................1.6 X (4 dB) Gain (balanced)...............................................3.2 X (10 dB) Maximum output (balanced)..........................> 14 V RMS THD (1 V out, 1 kHz)........................................< 0.002 % Channel separation ( 1 V out, 1 kHz)...........> 90 dB Equivalent input noise....................................4 uV Output impedance..........................................100 Ohm Analog filter (-3 dB)..........................................75 kHz The title of this document is ECD1_V1 FWIW.
  2. It's where work goes to die.
  3. Very strange. Does your manual have a date or version/revision # on it? It would be great if you could scan it.
  4. My desk at work is such an embarassing pig sty.
  5. Nums, is there anything included with the DSP license that is useful for the DAC or is it ONLY applicable for the ADC?
  6. Of course. Actually, I have no idea.
  7. I always thought the ECD-1 sounded hotter than those specs, but they are indeed the published specs. TC_Shadow, have you actually measured Vout?
  8. You can't have "bass" without "ass".
  9. I would have liked it if they were all the same exact picture.
  10. Congrats Brent!
  11. How's the build quality?
  12. Ah, you did it! And...?
  13. Did you tweak the most "accurate" one at all?
  14. Went to a luncheon. Met Archbishop Dolan. Seems like a good guy. Saw a bunch of partners who used to boss my ass around. It's nice to be the client.
  15. Frankly, I think this exercise says more about the various processes we use to arrive at the decision "which is best." As for accuracy, meh, what's the original and what's most accurate and what's the artist's intent are the subjects of a gazillion signified/signifier/PoMo writings. It usually ends up in an endless loop of circular logic.
  16. It means she should jam a ULN-2 and Amarra into it.
  17. From a post I wrote on HF: This DAC is so Canadian.
  18. Or those damn Little Maggies that haven't seemed to hit the market, yet.
  19. Well, actually, the reason is that is the strategy I used to decide which I liked best. Scanned them all quickly a couple of times and just picked. Really couldn't articulate why with much insight. I've been trying to do this with decisions when I find myself waffling. I think it may be applicable to your larger point. Or I'm just full of shit. Likely both.
  20. Reminds me of this for some reason.
  21. heh, I was going to post the same, but I didn't. You win the evil points. But you're also right.
  22. I wish he compared more directly the JH13 to non-IEMs.
  23. Probably right, though I hope not. iPhone on Verizon: 'A Decision That is Exclusively in Apple's Court' - Mac Rumors
