  1. Well the Galibier, EMM Labs, and Berkeley Audio DAC are on my shopping list but I will have to wait for my IPO next year to travel down that road. Until then I will have to make do.
  2. Based upon the fantastic performance of the PBN EPS2 Signature speakers used in the Can Jam Steve Hoffman room, I decided to start with their Monitor speakers for my office. It is apparent that my DIY office speaker project will never get off the ground and I love the PNB presentation so the decision was a natural. Now for the Manley gear I have been lusting after.
  3. Based upon my oh so short audition at Can Jam, I would have to agree. Sigh, my wallet is beginning to look as empty as Leona Helmsley' heart.
  4. No just all the strange emails that went back and forth while booking them for their two tables. It;s my understanding that there were more "bargaining" negotiating and email traffic with this one vendor than for any three other attending vendors combined. Given your experience, I would think you develop a sense after a while that it is not the specific question asked, but the pattern to their questions which points to their intentions. The staff appears to be highly compartmentalized, not sure if it is done intentionally or bad management, but when you have different managers asking the same type of questions a pattern seems to develop.
  5. That's pretty damn funny! Who ghosted that for you?
  6. I for one can tell you they were definitely scouting, though I doubt for litigation targets.
  7. Happy Birthday Lily!
  8. Wow, even the doors to the landing gear have those radar deflecting sawtooth edges. Sweet!!! Spent the afternoon as I have the last three days shipping Can Jam gear back to owners. Today I returned the Billy Bags audio stand for the Hoffman talk. After clean and jerking that monster a few times getting in and out of my sport ute I am feeling kinda buff.
  9. No worries as long as it went for the gang and not the gate crashers. The whole idea was to welcome the out of towners.
  10. The Glenrothes 1985 is my favorite but somehow by the time I got around to finding it at the secret sub-meet it was gone. I never knew there was an evaporation factor with single malts. I found the Select Reserve and the 1991 to be very enjoyable and it is nice to finally have the proper glassware for future Head-Case late night posting rituals. Robin Couper, our Glenrothes host is a really nice guy and did not hesitate to accept the invitation to participate in Can Jam. He flew down from San Francisco just to participate in our little event. The Glenrothes management is kind of fascinated by the whole audio single malt link and really wants to support our relationship. If anyone cares, those glasses are the new official Glencairin no lead German crystal glasses. So you know we looked out for your health by having no lead crystal.
  11. Snap, that's the ticket! Now how to convince the relatives and friends that all the BBQs at our place will feature BBQed Ramen which really is just as good as BBQ tri tip and Walmart Red rally tastes the same as Harlan Bond.
  12. No worrys, I am not insulted one bit...........
  13. Soon as I can sell off some of my gear I intend to get the Pro 13s as well. Unfortunately I was so busy running around the Hilton doing busy work I missed the chance to get the molds done. As others have said, they won't replace a good home rig but they are by far the best IEMs I have ever experienced and are better than some entry level home systems I have experienced, and I was sober when I tried them too! Was the audiologist the brunette one there with an office in Northridge? Northridge is half an hour away from me so that would make it a little more convenient.
  14. I won the Millett in the raffle but if it isn't far superior to the LaRocco PRII I will sell it to help fund the JRpro 13s or a Buffalo, or better yet both. The Manley Labs gear was very good, EveAnna and Chris were just the coolest people to talk to.
  15. Well I offered her a table at Can Jam for the going price of $700. Guess I should have comped her.
  16. Probably the two most ironic raffle prize wins were Jacob winning the Bamboo iPod dock and the Ultimate Ears sales assistant winning the HD650s. I was sitting at Craig's table listening to his balancing act when she walked in and asked Craig if he had anything like the 650s to listen to because she had never heard of Sennheiser HD650. Craig said "well I have these" which were the 600s and he then sat her down in front of the Zana to give a listen. "Cool" was all she would say for the next five minutes.

    CanJam 2009

Jacob, I recall that anyone with Can Jam can extend for an extra day at the same $89 rate. When you check in talk to the staff at that time and make sure they give it to you, they tend to screw up on occasion if you don't watch them closely.
  18. Front row, third from the left...............

    CanJam 2009

    At $450 a pop?
  20. Try lemon juice, even though they are both acids, I sometimes have had better results with pure lemon juice.

    CanJam 2009

I think you win for the greatest distance traveled for Can Jam goodness.
  22. Wow, very nice! Looks very much like an OEM job, well I guess there is hope for me if I ever try to DIY again.
  23. ....as in volume discounts?
  24. Agreed, but I have a Cab and a Bordeaux I need to open and enjoy before Thursday and for now grapes take priority over grain.
