What are you using to feed the M-Audio Transit and what is the optical (I am assuming) from the MAT feeding? I bought one a few Weeks ago and returned it thinking that the PS Audio Digital LinkIII would meet my needs for my office USB audio better and easier.

Yeah, I just returned from a trip to visit mom and dad in Phoenix and Fort Huachuca AZ. One hundred and five degrees all day, felt like I was walking in a hair dryer the whole weekend. X2. The Berkeley is really the cost of the Berkeley DAC and a Lynx L22 card for me and that puts it out of my range. Numbs seems to think the Ayre QB-9 is very good and I believe someone here just bought the QB-9.
