  1. are you planning to fork your input stage into its own board? should make that with melfs and cards like how stax does it haha I'm a fan, seems like more flexibility for mounting
  2. I thought the golden ref lv was for actual power applications like the dynalo?
  3. that's enough slew to feed the entire stax thread on hifi with enough left over for all the people who use ray's products
  4. I would say just focus on the carbon and associated psus, it will become progressively more difficult to document and track any errors that pop up. unless you get overwhelming reception the low volume stuff should be trimmed. doesn't the split supply already have lv and bias sections? I didn't see anything wrong with the amplifier boards but I probably need to take another look
  5. great casing I'll take one plox
  6. no network connectivity seems to be shooting yourself in the foot, there's a ton of options if you're open to that
  7. Is anyone else getting hammered by questions about the Carbon? You'd think they were in mass production by the way people are trying to suck your dick for listening impressions

the real kiss would probably be a separate switch
  9. nopants replied to nopants's topic in Do It Yourself
if you're talking about the megatron it's because of the "auto" biasing for the output stage

m do they accept mains by default, independent of the dc rating?
  11. nopants replied to nopants's topic in Do It Yourself
thanks, waiting on the knob to complete everything. my balance doesn't go over 40 and levels to -13 offset is similar level but I didn't measure right at power on
  12. nopants replied to nopants's topic in Do It Yourself
that's the implication but it could just be the effects of the startup sequence. I don't think others with the Megatron are delaying the HV by 5 minutes
  13. nopants replied to nopants's topic in Do It Yourself
duly noted. I guess I need to implement the HV mains delay then? without the delay there's some swishing sound that takes around 5 minutes to settle out
  14. sure that's totally fair, but I think that's what Birgir was kind of getting at. It's what I would be getting at after using as many chinese cases as I have
  15. don't know how much PayPal matters when the qc on all the cases is garbage to begin with
  16. isn't the carbon already technically a SiC BHSE, 10m90s and everything? I'm just thinking out loud...a "reverse hybrid" amplifier just sounds pretty cool if one is willing to appropriate the voltage necessary for the tube CCS...maybe even a hybrid mu/beta follower oh man T2 CCS seems pretty manageable if you only need to drop in those 8(?) 3675s. Easy enough to P2P, but I guess infinitely more of a pain in the ass compared to the boards as they are now.
  17. alright fuck it I'm going to build the carbon with the PSU I was saving for a BH original, I can't take it anymore maybe the siCarbon is worth using the 1968s on as well? or an el34 ccs a la megatron....
  18. shouldn't we fork the kgsshv carbon from the kgsshv thread
  19. still have 2x kgsshv sumr transformers, should do good substitute duty. maybe I need to dual mono

http://nervenet.info/HT_delay/ I bought 2 of these to delay the HV startup of the megatron, I'll let you guys know how they turn out. Seems like a pretty nice drop-in
  21. any builder can implement it that way it's just a matter of what fits
  22. you can always buy random heatsinks and mount them inside. that's what I was planning on doing if my case didn't meet proper sizes
  23. is that a warning for all resistors or just prp
  24. you posted a link to some stone supplier before, have you found any new ones
