  1. Hrm interesting dac.
  2. Uh I think he asked because IEMs are pretty easy to drive and using an amp... especially a full sized amp is pretty silly.
  3. Nice! Boo to 1500 headbands!
  4. Tack on a Gilmore Lite and a Spectral SDR-2000 Pro to my 2008 list AD2000s sound amazing from this amp... to the extent where I almost can't imagine them sounding better. Match made in heaven. And while the Qualias don't mate assss well perhaps it is perhaps the only amp to have no noise floor with those ridiculously sensitive headphones. Well I guess the GS-1/GS-X probably can reproduce that too.
  5. Yep not many headphones have a wider soundstage. Really probably only the k1000.
  6. Spritzer doesn't really even use Stax pads anyways. He has specially baked bread for that purpose.
  7. I spent 3,000 dollars on yet another DAC before the year ends... I promised myself I wouldn't buy this dac until the next year, but that is not to be Now I will go TVless... or will I??
  8. Sounds like he got CD44his
  9. What? You got a pair already? Well you see the kinda grippy part of the plug? That has some give and you basically pull that away from the headphone or kinda pull down on it and it should just come right off.

Interesting. Certainly spent a lot on looks
  11. Hrm interesting. I have never had a problem with bass quantity. I actually like the bass best out of any other headphone. Maybe balancing will fix it for you. I've never noticed a significant difference in balanced drive with the Qualias :/
  12. I haven't heard this amp but I have heard the cary 300 sei. I wouldn't call that amp accurate.
  13. I dunno I feel like the price tier below has some much more interesting candidates like not just from a price/value standpoint but sonics as well.
  14. Ugh wouldn't own any of those 3.
  15. Damn 10k? I hope most of that is for a group buy(s) If not.. damnnn sir!
  16. Oh yeah 2009. Get my Balancing Act. Get my repaired and upgraded SS-1. Get a Dynamight made. Get a couple more sources. Get a few of my existing sources modded. Get more UPOCC cabling. Maybe mess around with my speaker rig. Maybe give electrostatics another shot. Try my hand at DIY.
  17. Sold SDS. Sold Wavelength Cosine DAC Sold DV60 that I listened to for one track as it had spent most of its new life with Alex Peychev so dunno if it counts as part of any of my rigs. Acquired a AD2000 and a K1000. Acquired a Parasound pre amp and power amp to flesh out my speaker rig. Acquired Parasound Surround Sound Processor/1500/1600/2000 (x2), Esoteric D-3 (Not a D-03)/D70, Assemblage 3.0/3.1 DACs In the process of acquiring a EC Balancing Act. Hrm I just added it up and somehow I've only spent ~2500-3k dollars this year on audio gear after subtracting the stuff I've sold. That can't be right... given how little I have in my bank accounts. Where did all my money go
  18. Hey CD44hi you never answered my pm about pictures of the pads!
  19. dyna-fet dyna-fet! x2 on the linear systems and their shit-together-getting.
  20. Yeah uh.. considering that Ray Samuels hates the qualias and that the guy who sold me my pair with the Singlepower headband sold it after one listen with the Apache (Maybe not a B-52 but all Ray's amps kind of have the same sort of voice)... I don't think its the headphone for you.
  21. ya if you dont like the sa5000 then you very well may not like qualias
  22. Dyna-fet! Dyna-fet!
  23. Yeah I perseonally would be hard pressed to pay 3.5k for the headphone myself, but luckily I don't have to unless I really need a 4th pair ... which I kinda want
  24. -3500-4500+ dollars. Last pair I know of that changed hands went for 3.8k and that is a medium size and not small size which is guaranteed to fit more people better (Thus be in higher demand) plus all those extras the seller wants to offload. Of course the economy is in a rough patch and it is holiday season so a lot of people might be more interested in spending that money elsewhere. Good luck if you do go for it!
