I just wanted to give an update. I ended up picking up a Rega Planet 2000. It was a good price and I couldn't pass it up. So far as Reks mentioned it has been a nice upgrade from playing it directly on my laptop through the DAC1. I really like it and I'm happy with the results so far. Thanks for everyone's input on this

I was wondering what the masses thought about this. I was listening on the radio this morning and the talk show host was explaining why he felt instant replay would be good for baseball. Granted I'm not a baseball fan, but I do watch the playoffs. He brought up examples like when Mark McGwire was going for his home run record and he recalled there was an instance when a ball was called foul, but after the replay it clearly was a home run. Also, I guess there was a play in the Rockies vs Padres game it should've been a home run but ruled a double that he mentioned? I didn't see that game, but I wish I did. He added that he wouldn't want it for things like strikes or balls. I'm a football fan and the NFL has utilized instant replay and it's worked well IMHO. The years they didn't have it, I wished they did. Now in college football, the games I've seen it's worked out pretty good. The talk show host ended by saying that in the end don't you just want to get the game called right. What do you guys think?

Thanks grawk. I'm going to look into it. I would love to have another Tivo solution again. My cable provider here is Time Warner Cable. They have a Scientific Atlantic DVR box that they lease out every month. I was with DirecTV, but since living high on a hill that was pretty windy because of the trade winds, it got knocked out of alignment a lot. Long story short, I really liked the Tivo they provided. It was great and it just worked. I'll let you know what i come up with. BTW, I got the rega planet that you suggested and I'm a happy camper. Thanks again.

Sean of the Dead was pretty funny. I just looked at my DVR and it didn't tape it. Wish it was a TIVO, but the cable company here doesn't offer that with it's cable tv service. The DVR is good since it works with their digital cable service and HD service. Oh well, I'm gonna be downloading it like you.

Me either. I never saw Topsy Turvy and Dog Soldier though. I also saw that he was Tommy in Trainspotting, and he was in Kingdom of Heaven. I hope this TV show does well for him and he gets more movie roles.

I like that burger. Yummy That sounds so good. I had miso salmon, unagi on rice, and some sake tonight. Today at lunch I ate at a new place which had the best pork sandwich. It was a baguette, with brie cheese in it and toasted wit some sweet grilled onions. The roast pork wasn't oily at all, but it was really tender. The chef seems to be from Europe, because he had an excellent accent, and on the plate there were 4 types of vegetables and all of them were superb. I'm going there again soon.

BTW, did you know (saw this on wikipedia): He was the voice of Jezz Torrent in GTA: Vice City Supposedly he might play a part in Thor the Marvel Action hero movie that is slated to be out in 2009. But that is a long way down the road so who knows. I could see him as Thor.

So far I've been pleasantly surprised by just the premiere. The premise of the story is pretty intriguing. I haven't watched the second episode, oh right I said that in the last post. But, it's pretty good overall. There is one hot looking Asian girl in it. Even the wife said she was pretty. She reminds me of Tia Carrera a little. I only decided to watch Journeyman since the guy from Rome is on it. I really liked Rome. Hopefully you get a chance to watch House tonight

Ok. I got to try and watch it tonight with the wife. It always depends what time the baby goes to bed. Hopefully it's early and I can squeeze in House and Journeyman.

Has anyone watched this. I saw last weeks episode. I was interested since the character on Rome is on it. I like the premise of the story. I didn't see last nights episode so I have to watch that. In any case the asian chick is HOT. Kind of reminded me of tia carrera (she's from Hawaii ). I'm wondering how he is going to travel now since he loses time in the present while he is time traveling.

MTV Best of Unplugged Vol. 2 and Vol. 3 Alice and Chains Unplugged

Okay. I just saw the premiere episode of House last night. It's been a busy week . Well how did you guys like it? It was different without the usual suspects (Foreman, Chase, or Cameron), but it was good. It showed that he really did needs a staff. Also, Wilson was so funny this episode. I like his sarcasm with House about his guitar. Can't wait to watch the next episode. It hasn't aired yet here since I'm 6 hours behind EST. It will be interesting to see how he picks his next staff and what rigors he will put them through. i added a spoiler warning to the title so Dusty Chalk doesn't get mad --admin

I agree that the college players show more heart than pro. That is why a bunch of my friends like College football more than pro. I have been watching more college football as of late and it's exciting. Also, it's great that our state team Hawaii is ranked pretty high I like Favre as well. He beat the Niners a bunch of times before when Holmgren was the coach there. He really loves the game for sure. I thought he was crazy to come back this year but I was soooo wrong. Again don't know much about baseball, but I did hear the commentators this morning on ESPN radio say that Hoffman is overrated and isn't the same player he was in years past.

. I don't have any team to be honest for baseball. I did hear about the Rockies/Padres game last night. I would've loved to see that game. I heard it was good.

hehe. I wish the Pats were my team, but it's the Niners. They have a real good Defense now, but there offense stinks . There O line isn't good. They allowed 6 sacks in the first half alone and the Niners went 3 and out 6 or 7 times this week. Now there starting quarterback has a separated shoulder. On the bright side they are 2 - 2 and it's only the beginning of the season. Hopefully they can have their starting QB back after the bye. They play the Ravens at home this week, and after a lost that they suffered to Cleveland, they are going to be out for blood. I should know since the Ravens were my defense the last 2 seasons playing Fantasy football. Well, I hope things start going better, but there offense needs to improve

I wouldn't be surprised. I don't think they could go 16-0 in this day and age. They will probably rest the starters before playoffs if they are 14-0. But who knows. If any team could go undefeated this year it would be the Pats. They really remind me of the 49ers offense of old .

Yeah his attitude where ever this guy has gone hasn't been good. It looks like the Pats are the team to beat in the AFC again. Also, look at the Chargers. Ever since Norv Turner came to town the team has been on a downward spiral. But, to his defense it seems like the new coaching staff and the team don't have the chemistry yet to win games. He should have stayed with the Niner . Our offense is pathetic.
