Wow thanks for posting up pics. That is small. How is battery life so far? -
I would love to go to whiskeyfest. The same bunch of guys were talking about how great it would be to have a whiskey type of event like the sake event. That would really give me a chance to taste different types of whiskeys . Now I'm determined to see if there is a whiskey event where I live. Thanks for the info EdipisReks. BTW are you going?

I forgot to report back on the event. There were 12 areas that were just food. All of them had their own signature dish that they were serving up. One was oysters with some spicy favored sea salt on it, another had Foie gras, lots of sushi of course , desserts, salad, pork tenderloin, misoyaki butterfish, etc. Overall the food was excellent. The sake was separated by 5 different grades/types of sake. Basically you got a plastic cup, but you could purchase a Sake glass for 3.00 and then go to town. Out of the 300+ sakes I could only drink about 45 different ones. There were some that I went back for seconds or thirds. This was my first year so I realized that on the four corners of the huge meeting hall was stations that was pouring. Now those were the places that had $100 - $300 bottles of sake. To be honest my taste buds can't tell the different between really good sake and average sake. Of course when I drank the sake I thought it tasted good, but I'm not sure if I had a blind taste test between average bottle and expensive ones if I could really tell the difference. But who cares, I was out with some buds and we were free from the wives and kids so it was time to party . It was a great experience and I found out this event comes yearly so I'm planning on going every year .

Wow that is quite a bit for MS2i IMO. I've seen them go for as low as $225 and around $245 on the higher side. Those on the low end usually go really quick, like within in the hour. I know because I've missed 3 sales in the last month . But, I think I'm finally getting one soon .

I've been watching some Family Guy and catching up on Entourage. Waiting for the TV season to start late this month

Wow nice. I liked reading Dostoyevsky when I had Philosophy in college . Also, the cigars and scotch that you have sounds good.

WOW is a very addicting game indeed. I should know as I was the main hunter puller in MC for a while. In any case, our company has HP laptops and they have been fine. I know a lot of people with Dells and HPs. A few have Lenovos and they perform beautifully and have great durability. Also, I have a HP 17" laptop with HD DVD built in and I'm very happy with it. I use it for home and work. I had Vista Ultimate, but I uninstalled it and put on Windows XP Pro. I also have a Sony laptop that is working well, but I notice from others that owned them that they don't last as long as the IBMs and Toshibas. There are some Toshiba's that used to have Windows 2000 Professional when they were shipped and now have XP Pro and are still working. Overall I've been happy with my HP and Sony laptop. I also had a Toshiba laptop and a Toshiba Tablet. I sold both and they are still working as well with their current owners. Best of luck on your laptop search.

Yup hehe. I meant that they were new to me. Funny thing but they were on Sesame Street when I was growing up, which didn't get jogged in my memory till today. I brought a new DVD for my son this week and they were on and I loved them. Then the wife says their name and I was like, "How did I not remember them?" I then brought some CDs and will be listening to them for years to come.

Some SACDs. Also a new group I heard called "Ladysmith Black Mambazo". Cheers

This is all great info. I have a PPX Slam and so far it's working great. But I have read posts about them arriving with some issues. I hope he irons out the issues with his amps though.

that's good to know since I have a HP-2 and I'm happy with mine as well

Thanks for all your impressions. I just keep missing the FS, but I'll get them one day. They sound like a great Grado can to have since I'm a Grado fan, but I'm really liking the Audio Technica cans I have more and more everyday .

Welcome Ryan. Good to see you here. Lots of great people here

Thanks Dusty Chalk for your impressions and insights. I'll try and pickup a Rega Planet (earlier model). I know those go pretty quickly on Audiogon, but I'll be on the lookout for one.
-
Why does Rega suck? Is there another Cd transport in the that price point (300 - 450) I should be looking at?
-
Thanks EdipisReks for your help. I'll definitely be looking to get one soon I hope (depending if I could get one on Audiogon or Ebay).

I'm a newb when it comes to CD players and I was wondering what is the differences between the 2? I was going to use it connected to my DAC1 to play CDs instead of playing my CDs from my laptop. Right now my laptop with HD-DVD player is okay, but I'm worried about how much jitter it may be producing. I was hoping to get a decent CD player to play regular CDs. I was thinking about sticking with my DAC1 and just using my laptop CD player since the DAC1 should help cutdown on the jitter, but I'm not sure. Thanks in advance .
