I've been suprised by the amount of people who have told me how much improvment can come with adding an aftermarket cable to the SME V arm. Got a great deal on the cable from GTT A&V at RMAF. I'll post when it gets here.

I've got a Kubala-sosna thats made with the SME DIN > balanced outputs on the way.

Got the new table/arm hooked up. Sound is a little slower than the VPI, but the presentation is nicer and more inner detail going on. Its much more layered from front to back than it was. Keeper for awhile at least (table) i think the arm is a work of art and sound and will be on any table i buy in the future. Sorry about the photos. I'll have my wife add better shots tomorrow.

I was there and hung out with Todd on sat. for awhile, and then back sunday. Listened to the 009 systems and spent some time with the HD800/woo monoblocks.

I used the XX2MKII for over 2 years. Still one of my favorites, and in some ways more enjoyable than the XV-1s.

Thanks for info. Now a can figure most of the changes/improvments are coming from the arm. Cartridge is the Dyna XV-1s.

I think the last year cutting ice for the Mites through the bantams has been the most fun I've had since I've been doing this for a living. (minus the insane hockey parents that show up now and then) Wonder how long before the league changes up the teams. Easy choice would be just switch the Jets and preds.

Well, after over five years with the VPI SSM sig. I'm getting the bug to try something different. First up is a JA MIchell Gyro SE w/SME V arm. Two tables enter....only one can stay.

Flying in sat. morning and out monday afternoon. Want to check out the Origin Live tables/arms, and the YGA Kipod II speakers.

I'm going to go ahead and try one of the Marchand passive units. Should no problem since I'm only using 27' of very low cap. cables. 22' after the preamp and then another 4' from xover to amps. Scared to put anything active in if I dont have to. I'll let you know how it works out. it will take 2-3 weeks before i get it. Thanks for the help!

I'm wondering if this would work? My preamp has an output of 250ohms and amp has an input of 200K ohms.. Does this look like it would be OK between them? Is the input(of the xover) a little low? http://www.rane.com/pdf/ac22sdat.pdf

Right now I'm running one set of outputs to the amp and the second outputs to the pr. of sunbs. I'm thinking just put the Xover between the amp and preamp and leave the sub the same. Then tune in the subs at 80hz with there on board crossovers. I guess the Marchland is the best way to go (as far as quality for $$$).

Marchand looks very good. They can build build me a fully balanced passive with my option requests for a little over my budget. Would it be better to go out to the main speakers (amp) and subs through the Xover? Or just go between Xover and amp and then dial in the subs on there own at 80hz? Right now I'm running the amp and the subs through the two sets of balanced outputs on my preamp.

I'm looking for a balanced crossover to run between my pre/amp. Need to be able to cut off from 80hz down and it must have 24db slope. I'm going to use it so i can take full advantage of my subs. Its got to be balanced and I prefer active but I'm not locked in on that if the best product in my price range is passive. I dont want to spend to much to start maybe 3-400 bucks. I found the Rane AC 22B but really have no clue whats out there or whats any good. Any suggestions would really help me out as I'm going in blind. Thanks.

On the Audio front ordered a pr. of JL Audio F110 subs to go with my wifes speakers. Hope i can pick them up by sat.
