I don't think there ever was one like that (the SRD-X did use a 1/4" plug though) and you can see the label for the input wiring on the back so this is a mod.

It's the Japanese norm. Ditto for the reversed XLR wiring the use.

Last time I bought from them it was all authentic, even the often faked J79's. That was a couple of years ago though so things might have changed.

If you follow the Mikhail line of thought then the 250Vac rating would mean 250*1.41 for DC but that isn't the case. Most of these switches have a rating for DC and it is usually very low. I for one wouldn't worry about delay lines and stuff like that.

More current certainly doesn't make an amp brighter, anybody who would write that knows fuck all about this. With everything equal more current will give you better high frequency drive capability into the given load. That means a more stable voltage swing as you push the amp harder. One of the main issues with Stax is just this, the diaphragm starts to act up as it is capable of pretty amazing frequency response but the amps just can't handle it at full load. Stax "fix" this by dulling sound of the amps to make them a better fit but it sounds like shit that way.
