  2. I don't so much have a beard, as I have a wire brush that grows out of my face. To go from 2-3 day's stubble to clean shaven, I have to use two electrics and a razor. I loathe shaving. I used to grow a beard during the winter months. In the last few years my beard has gone very white, and I really don't like the look of it. I've been going gray since my mid-20s (quite common among dyslexics) and that doesn't bother me in the slightest. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about my beard.
  3. This thread is not about what I hoped it would be.
  4. I was surprised (and annoyed) at my inability to find one last night. Today I am going to a professional electrical supply store. Today I dug out my DMM, and measured this thing. It outputs 86 volts, which causes fluorescent lights to freak out. Line current in my house is 115V.
  5. 32oz bottle of Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Soap 2 bags TJ's Salsa Corn Chips 4 packages of outlet covers 1 dusk-til-dawn photo sensor (appears to be a piece of crap, going back tomorrow) 1 65W CFL outdoor fixture, with its own dusk-til-dawn sensor 1 light switch/outlet faceplate 1 ceramic ceiling fixture not purchased: 1 timer switch for shower exhaust fan. Apparently local retailers are convinced selling these things promotes communism.
  6. HEY. We're equal opportunity hatemongers around here.
  7. /me hits thrice with a shovel IIRC, the original Black Hole Sun video was pulled from MTV rotation after a serious outcry from fundies over the religious imagery in it.
  8. I should also note that it looks like CodeWeavers have upgraded CrossOver since last night, from 7.1.0 to 7.1.1. I'm trying the new version now.
  9. Not really, SupCom is hugely resource intensive. I beat both SupCom and SC:FA on my poor PC and the later boards of Forged Alliance were essentially "turn based" for me. I'd pause the game, suss out the situation, give my units orders, then unpause and watch the action unfold at 2-3FPS. This was at the lowest possible detail setting. The thing is, in my advanced years, very few video games interest me. I was obsessed with Total Annihilation back in the day. SupCom, being the spiritual success of TA, was the one game that captivated me last year. I'm probably in the clear for future video game addictions untill Fallout 3 and StarCraft 2 come out.
  10. I am sad that Crossover Games cannot run Supreme Commander.
  11. I downloaded both CrossOver and CrossOver Games last night, before the rush got really serious. CrossOver registered immediately, but as of yet, I haven't been able to get the Games version to reg. It complains about a corrupted download. I'm not sure if this is the file I have, or some problem it is having with the CodeWeavers server.
  12. It's not a smiley, but I like this one:
