Mini meet at a local store
Hehe I refuse to listen to a well setup vinyl system. Biggie.

London, ON meet: Saturday, March 17th
Only one person, but he gave nice comments at least. ^^ "Just wanted to give a big thanks to Jamie. I spent a very pleasant couple of hours listening to his amazing headphone system at a micro meet this afternoon. All I can say is ... "WOW!!!" It is truly a fantastic way to listen to music ... lushness of tubes, wide & extended dynamic range, beautiful balance, very three dimensional image, etc, etc. You just merge with the music which seems very natural and real. All-in-all you couldn't ask for a better way for a Head-Fier to spend an afternoon. Thanks again Jamie!" - Gord_SW_Ont I didn't listen to anything at the meet so I have no comments lol. Biggie.

Ultrasone Edition 9
Oh I just always take the opportunity to put a dig into sony cans. Biggie.

Ultrasone Edition 9
Eh. the only sony headphone I would listen to over a pair of sr60's is the r-10. Biggie.

London, ON meet: Saturday, March 17th
Hey Philodox, pm me here so I can reply to you. No head-fi at work doh.. Dude you could totally drive akg340's off my amp... if you had speaker post connections haha. Biggie.

Tube Storage Solutions
12au7 or el34 collector over here. If I remember you don't have 12au7s though. I'm using the telefunken 12au7's Gilmore sold me in my amp right now. ^^ Biggie.

First Tube Amp
Good tube amps sound like good ss amps, but with with a more lush and holographic midrange. Biggie.

Tube Storage Solutions
You'll just have to go out and buy more shoes. I had 3 shoeboxes full of tubes, but the gf wasn't happy so she bought me fancier boxes from Winners. Biggie.

Reviewing reviews
I'm talking about speaker systems with extension, not drivers. Biggie.
-
Reviewing reviews
I'm not saying bass extension isn't important, its just that most reviews I read, the reviewer doesn't have a strong grasp of their headphones bass capabilities. If you want full extension speakers are the way to go. Biggie.
-
Reviewing reviews
How come every headphone review has at least one "bass goes really deep" yada yada type comment. Most recordings don't even have deep bass on them and even many of the nice cans we enjoy gently roll off down there. Even worse is how every interconnect comparison within a review ends up with the new interconnect being a bit more extended in the highs and the lows. Can I get a review of my review of bullshit reviews now? Biggie.

Still alive. Biggie.

Should I bite on this?
If only I could go back in time and hit edit. Biggie.

Should I bite on this?
I highly disagree with points 1 and 2. I paid $400 + shipping for my old rs-1's off head-fi. They were sitting in the forsale forumn for 2 weeks before I snatched them up lol. Biggie.

"Cryovalve" Tubes
I couldn't tell you if cryo makes a difference in the sound of tubes or not. The valve art el34b's I bought were cryoed (they were the same price as the non-cryo so I thought why not) and certainly sounded better then the valve art el34b's I had before them, but the non-cryo el34b's I had were crooked and some were microphonic. Biggie.

The key is to buy expensive headphones before you're married! (lots of HP-2 pics
I would just hit up BozeButton's or msjjr's house. Quieter and all the gear you need to hear. Well, that is until they call the cops on you. Biggie.

Need suggestions for "adding more warmth/reducing some harshness."
Well, I do have a way with headphones. BIggie.

Empirical Audio USB Off-Ramp Turbo 2
All his mods are overpriced. And his posts are full of fluff. Biggie.

Crap past edit period. Heres the rest of my post: To me the senn hd650 and akg701 share a similar presentation, but the senns have more weight to their sound and a darker/warmer midrange, with smoother highs. I'm a grado fan myself. The beyer 880's look like they have more treble energy then the hd650's but I've never bothered to listen to a pair though. Biggie.

That looks mighty fancy. No need to look into the oneac probably. I've listened to the Cardas, Equinox and Olebauch (from Meir Audio) and all were an improvement in smoothness in the highs over the stock sennheiser cable. Biggie.
