New tubes for my Bijou build this Fall. Just need the case, some front panel bits, maybe some wire andabuchofothercrapiforgottobuy. If the 6922s are not in use at the time, they'll be in the Bottlehead Seduction. One of the tubes from that set (Amperex Bugle Boy 6DJ8) has developed some rush in recent months.

I think we all have family members who mean more to us than others, and it's clear your mother was very special to you. I know the days now are long and difficult. Ah. Sweet. Thanks, guys! That makes sense since the photo is of the corner of the power supply board (and the audio circuit runs along side the power supply.)

Any guess what parts L901 and L902 are? Measured, they don't seem to be...anything. They are on the output path to the RCAs on the back panel. I assume they are some kind of output cap. Guesses?

I'm not seeing a lot of praise for the OPA2134, but am seeing some good things about the OPA627/637. As for the AD8620, reviews seems to be the same as they were before: rather clean sound, and can be too steril with the wrong associated circuit. I may just solder in a few sockets and roll these until the rest of the changes are made. Additionally, it doesn't look like these are biased to Class A, but I'll have to poke around at the traces to figure that out. I'm doubting it, though. Opamp preferences, anyone?

Thanks, all! When I was studying, I really didn't listen to a lot of music. Music seems to hit a part of my brain that disallows me concentration on much else. Consequently, when I was really trying to build logical code, no music was the best option, unfortunately. Now, however, whatever I am listening to sounds better . Less stress, maybe. With really good jazz, it's almost as if I'm just gulping down the tunes, like a man left hungry for weeks when he finally emerges from the desert to see he is in Vegas. gulp, grin, gulp. The human brain is pretty amszing. More music, please! Damn this feels good!

I AM DONE! Third Quarter complete. Grade: A. Unless I get a zero on my last assignment and my instructor suddenly croaks, I have successfully completed coursework for the UW Java Certificate Program. It was frustrating, time consuming, mind bending, educational, job boosting fun. Now I can be a real ass in code reviews at work and have the background to say why. I feel quite liberated. And must drink some more!

That's right. A few upgrades and tweaks for the old gal. On the list will be opamps, wiring reroutes and upgrades, power supply changes. First up, I'm going to remove these JRC4735B opamps (assuming I have correctly identified them) and replace them with...dunno. After reading up a bit it appears that these are part of the problem with this player sounding so dark. I'll have to do some comparisons, but it seems like an OPA2134 could be a candidate, or an AD8610 (or 20). Guesses? I'll have to check the pinouts to be sure.
