Dr Gilmore said that the LED must be 2.1V. I've ordered the recommended Lite-On, and they appear to be 1.9V on my cheap chinese tester. I presume it's alright ? Another question regarding the 3W resistor. The old BOM says 3W, some PCB say 1W. The 5.11k one is stocked at 2W (Vishay/Dale), not 3. And could be obtained at 5.1k (Vishay/BC)... This has already been discussed, but I can't find that info. Thanks

Not exactly part sourcing, but I need an advice. I'm planning to put my DAC in a case, but it's using an old fat EI-core transformer. I would like to take the 2-boxes way, but where am I putting the PS boards and chokes ? Boxed with the transformer, or with the signal stuff ? I read that chokes are sensitive to EMI... I'm looking to keep the PSU's impedance as low as possible. Any idea ?

gepardcv, haven't measured it myself, but this supply -despite what they say about it- is very noisy. Some have experienced this at DIYAudio. Personally, I wouldn't dare.

And as they are fat bottomed, they need larger wires too...

I have powered up the amp. Bias was very easy to set, but I don't experience the decribed negative tempco : my bias stays quite the same after warming up. Offset is around 40 on one side, and 80 mV in the other, without the OP27 of course. Everything looks quite stable, and the temperature is lower than what I expected. Don't know if I'll wait for a scope before first listening with el cheapo cans...

I went very nuts with the power transformer. I've just paid for a 50VA "custom order" by Canterbury Windings, with electrostatic shield and a goss band. Planning to put the Klone in a single chassis, I'll see how clean it can be.
