  1. Also check the breakdown voltages of 2SJ76/2SK216 while you are it, I had a few that did not meet the specs. DY294 is great for taking the uncertainty out of the parts quality.
  2. Email messages contain a transport header (SMTP header) that shows the routing history of the message, check to see if your email client can extract it. This is put on by the transmitting email server and not the sender, the good ones carry an authenticated header and the receiving email server can verify this as authentic. The other giveaway of a scam message is embedded HTML links, if there are HTML links check to see where it is pointing to. (Do not click them) On the surface the message looks legit, the phone number given is part of Mouser HK's PBX (852 3756 4700) Someone there might have just messed up, probably worth a followup if the SMTP header shows it coming from Mouser.
  3. Soren, Is there a GB for the resistors or resistor kits? I would be interested in the 50K and 10K sets.
  4. I have the model before this, CD-1BC, very quick heat up times (4-6 seconds max from idle, about 15 seconds from dead cold). Heat capacity is mainly dependent on the type of tip chosen and you get a fine tip and wide tip as part of the package. This soldering station allows you to change tips on the fly, that is, without waiting for it to completely cool, very useful when you need to switch from fine soldering like SMD to big jobs like tabs on a tube socket. ( I was a little concerned about wearing out the barrel but has not happened yet). System is modular and the barrel and tips are reasonably priced.
  5. Got my caps. Many thanks to Soren and Jay.
  6. Received my boards today, thanks and much appreciated. The Stax jack boards are very nice.
  7. That is a good idea, use hot-air to preheat the joint and adjoining PCB area slowly, once the solder starts to melt use a desolder gun or one of the solder suckers mentioned earlier. Always keep the wand moving and never leave it in more than 1 spot for more than 2-3 seconds. I set my air temps to 350-380degF Be careful to not pull out the plated sleeve that connects both sides of the board.
  8. If the adjustment of the batteries does not fix the problem, take a look around the J79 MOSFETs there should be around 50V between the drain and the source. The above is only valid only if the batteries are correctly adjusted
  9. Got my set from GeorgeP as well, the quality of the work and finishing is superb, many thanks GeorgeP
  10. Thanks for the effort in organizing the GB and for the update.
  11. Have been thinking along the same lines, these are ceramic spaces, stack them to adjust height Allied sells these, or for larger quantities Ebay. http://www.alliedelec.com/essentra-components-cer-1/70208725/ Another option is a wire forming plier from Excelta or Xuron with adjustable lead bend radius, it puts a U-shaped bend in the wire that holds up the resistor. http://www.pemro.com/productDetails.cfm?itemCode=EXL-1944 http://xuron.com/index.php/main/industrial_products/13/56 Excelta is very nice but expensive around 6-10x the cost of Xuron depending on the model. Heat shrink might also be useful but I think the T2 runs far too hot for that.
  12. Parts connexion sells them. http://www.partsconnexion.com/kits_sub_assemblies.html
  13. GB. http://www.head-case.org/forums/topic/12282-group-buy-digital-attenuator-kevin-gilmore/
  14. Thanks for the clarification, at 2x3inches, it is just slightly larger than the footprint of the RK50, I am thinking of using this attenuator instead of the RK50 on my T2 build. Quite an achievement cramming 16relays on the board but leaving enough space for hand assembly, the work is much appreciated. The hole can either be made smaller or moved closer from the edge to allow the standoff the seating space to prevent it from wobbling.
  15. Nice. Are the attenuator resistors 1206 or 0805, is there a reason for the larger mounting holes at the corners ?
  16. OK. Thanks. About FT being the Mundorf OEM? . This is what got my attention...
  17. Hi Soren, I would like to switch to the FT caps (16pcs) from the Mundorfs (8pcs), I have added the preference to the spreadsheet. With 16pcs the FT cap total is now 84, is that over the minimum order quantity ? Thanks.
