Coffee Drinkers? (or other hot beverages)
What’s interesting is that roasters state beans need several days post roasting to hit the sweet spot and I’ve been told it varies by roast style. Dunno but interesting. HS

Definitely a next level grinder... No shame in good stuff you enjoy using and looking at! HS

Godspeed, Trugoy... I did the very same, Voltron....I was in grad school and the music was new and fresh and set a great example IMHO. Big loss... HS

For what it's worth, mikeymad, I don't ever use my smaller basket. I find the 20g one has plenty of flexibility. Great to see you're having fun and enjoying good coffee. HS

Coffee Drinkers? (or other hot beverages)
I cannot offer comparisons, but the two IMS's that came with my Lelit Bianca have been great. I only bother with the 20g basket these days as I shoot for a 2:1 20 to 40ish when I'm pulling. I always watch with one of those little mirrors and it does a great job based on anything I've seen on videos or in person unless I screw up which fortunately doesn't happen much any more unless I just happens to have a fresh batch of beans I am figuring out. On a separate note, I keep meaning to post about the Acaia Pearl scale that the shop tossed in where I purchased the espresso machine. That thing really makes life much better / efficient. It's more robust than I care to admit as well (incident teaching my sister's kids how to make coffee...let's just say it was the only time my Niche ended up on its side...). HS

I shamelessly pay for high quality, freshly roasted beans. I'm not proud of it... HS

I saw this yesterday and it's funky. The guy was in it for something like 40 sec. For context, I run a mile in what used to be my car in say 28 sec's and I ran 212mph best. I'm not questioning the speed but the distance it was accomplished over is very questionable based on the video. I did get to see a different Ford GT (same model) go 300mph in the standing mile and it was glorious. The team has since concluded it is no longer a how fast, but can it stop situation. Despite the parachutes... vroom vroom.... HS

That is fast...period. I've learned a lot about gearing over the years....eighth mile car, quarter, half and mile. Makes a huge difference...we see a lot of bikes run out of gear at the mile, as an example. Regardless, the power to weight it takes to go low 9's or 8's...impressive. HS

I'm a fan of Michelins. I NEVER experience the quoted mileage on any tire, but generally Discount Tire is good for a credit albeit a half assed one when I replace tires. Bridgestone is another good brand so I doubt you'll go wrong with either. You'll never ever see me post that about Goodyear...spitting noises ensue... HS

After watching the latte art, I hate this guy already...LOL. HS

Coffee Drinkers? (or other hot beverages)
I don't have channeling issues very often. I do have to play with the grind setting as I purchase new coffee, or adjust a smidge as the beans age but these are very minor tweaks to grind setting (well less than one tick on the Niche). I pre-infuse with the Lelit Bianca at 2 bar for roughly four seconds and then swing the paddle for higher pressure until the gauge hits 9 bar. Seems to work pretty well. One thing I have concluded is I can torture myself with a less roasted bean trying to hit the sweet spot for espresso or I can purchase a bean clearly roasted for espresso (plenty dark) and make my life much easier hitting my marks. Much darker notes on the heavily roasted beans so it's a taste thing. HS

I think the First Omega in Space is a great size, especially if you're a fan of manual winds. I wasn't a huge fan of the lambskin strap so I had a custom alligator one made by the shop that makes the original lambskin ones so the fitment is spot on and the deployant clasp I requested is more to my liking. I agree...shame the Ed White is silly money. Sexy beast... HS
