Coffee Drinkers? (or other hot beverages)
Good info...thank you! Funny aside: I had another box of Chemex filters. It looks like I had a bad batch....used one from the new box and coffee was drama free.... Looks like I needed an excuse for a new toy HS

Coffee Drinkers? (or other hot beverages)
Ordered an Aiden and a couple of different sized filters. I tend to make coffee for myself and occasionally the lady that helps us with the house, unless we have a gathering. I think the Aiden will be well suited to my needs and counter space...it will displace the Chemex and sit next to my Niche Zero. Any filters that have worked well for you, luvdunhill? Thanks! Sam

Coffee Drinkers? (or other hot beverages)
I have owned my Chemex a long while. The quality of the filters finally has me considering other options...they just don't drain like they did years ago and I'm tired of messing with it. I'm considering a couple of drip machines. We have relatively low counters in our old house so a Technivorm, as an example, isn't a good option. Looking at the Wilfa Performance and the Ration Six Series 2. Any thoughts or recommendations before I jump in? Thanks... HS

We are watching this also. Good stuff, and it has a way of bringing up a lot of feels for the viewer (good and not so pleasant) IMO. HS

What are you EATING right now?
Anniversary dinner at Barbacana in Houston. Our first time and we were very impressed with the service, food and drink. Wagyu carpaccio, a vegetarian dish that was a riff on ramen, pork collar and a few desserts. The Korn, which was sweet and savory was a culinary gem IMHO (brittle on top one). HS

Shave-Case: The official HC hair removal thread.
I bought a party pack of Feather blades years ago that will likely see me into the ground...ridiculous number of blades. Love my Feather safety razor...a lot. The quality and general weight of it is satisfying and suits me...my fine motor skills are questionable...LOL. HS

That sounds delightful. I've only made the traditional spaniard ones with the toasted almonds in the center. HS

We went to Musaafer in the Galleria (Indian). It had been a few years and I have to say they have upped their game which was not too shabby previously. We went the tasting menu route and had to take the main dishes to go we got so full....first world problems. Here are a few of the dishes. HS

Coffee Drinkers? (or other hot beverages)
I felt obligated to post this. Drinking Onyx Coffee Lab's Columbia Jairo Arcila Lychee. No....just no. I literally just wrote Onyx. First time in over two decades of making coffee that I very much felt the need to provide the feedback. I believe they added actual lychees during the fermentation process and the result is I will likely toss the remaining beans in the bin. WTH?!? Save yourselves....LOL. HS

The Live Music Thread
Last night we saw Simple Minds....super show. Really impressed with how strong Jim Kerr's voice still is and how good a shape the gent is in. Modern English was the first act and did a great job. Soft Cell, unfortunately, was a bit of a disappointment. Can't help but wonder if they need a better sound engineer. Overall, great show and nice to run into some old friends. HS
