The covers that come with the trucks are crap. Not sure who they source them from. I'm a fan of Pace Edwards retractable units. Take up some space with the box but a full sized oak can drop stuff onto it for years and zero reliability issues in my personal experience. I'm laughing with you on that unit to get low enough for the kayak trailer... Never had to use anything like that. Any chance the air suspension allows for some drop? I'm assuming not but thought I'd toss that out there. HS P.S. I'm slow...the "heavy thing". You're at three tons...rounding

I wasn't aware of this motor as I'm not a Ford guy. Found the following to help get me educated (somewhat...): https://www.motortrend.com/cars/ford/f-150/2021/2021-ford-f-150-powerboost-first-test/ 430hp which is nice but the 570ft lb's of torque is what jumped out at me....that and the 10 speed transmission is what's making it feel so peppy. Very cool. I get it. I've been jaded by boosted vehicles for a long while. I supercharged my 5.7L HEMI within a year of buying it (2009 Challenger manual trans at the time) which made it a whole lot more fun. I pulled the blower on my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk with the Hellcat motor within months of buying it to up the boost with a smaller pulley and running E85 to manage pre-detonation from add'l boost. It's a pig (5718lbs w/ me in it) but it'll run a 10.3X quarter mile and a tick over 185mph in the standing mile despite the awful coefficient of drag. I get liking the mojo... The good thing is if you ever get bored upping the power won't be tough. Hard on a warranty though...ask me how I know...LOL. vroom vroom... HS

I drove the HEMI with the eTorque and it's a great combination in my opinion. I wouldn't mind a bit more sidewall on the tires but that's more a generational thing I figure (I'm dating myself...). Interesting on the speed. What are the specs on the Ford you were hoping to acquire? I'm not very well informed on the Ford stuff. Their Ecoboost is clearly a successful platform. HS P.S. you may hear a bit of noise from the lifters on the 5.7L HEMI. Do not let that bother you one bit. It's often referred to as the HEMI tick....no biggie. It's a stout motor.

The RAMs are very nice! Drive amazing. Did you get the eTorque or simply the 5.7? Both are great. HS PS the air suspensions and how nice the interior and uuuuge 12” touchscreen are....#WINNING

I think you're doing the correct thing exercising some patience, VPI. I've been there and in situations like this it is difficult. Have you given any thought to a Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.7L HEMI motor? They are very nice, come with 20's that aren't as tooth rattling, especially if they aren't the shitty run flats I'm running on my Trackhawk? You might be impressed with the interior if it's one of the nicer ones and you can get AWD of 2WD depending on availabilities. I truly believe we are in the famine of a feast and famine cycle and in a few months it is going to look VERY different...will be too many vehicles and discounts will return. Timing, as they say, is everything...I feel for ya. I personally think that would be far easier to live with than a Wrangler. HS

Trucks these days are pretty impressive. A lot of luxury and great tech. They charge for it, but the market seems to drink it up. Miss my RAM 1500... Parking it less so. HS

I've been reading about this for a while now. Saw a figure quoted that must be stale given it's a few months old...over 150K vehicles not produced due to the chip shortages. It will be interesting to see how it normalizes. Boom / bust cycles are tough but a pretty good rule of thumb... HS

Thanks, ER. I saw it in an image and a friend helped me identify it as the Spectre version from 2015. At 41mm it works a bit better than the newer 42mm versions on my wrist. Did some research and found an "unworn" one. Had to have it... I did not expect it to be as nice as is it including the bracelet based on my prior Omega experiences. It is the finest watch I own which was a pleasant surprise. Now if that watch I ordered a couple of years ago would ever come in....LOL HS

I finally found a local roaster that in my humble opinion is at the top of the coffee I have enjoyed. Memli and the gent does a nice job not only of sourcing and roasting but also attempting to educate his patrons systematically. Anyhoo, posting because I purchased something special...for me at least. It was about as much as I've paid for coffee and it reminded me of the Yemeni very cherry forward coffee grawk recommend from Levercraft in Austin. It is so fricken rich. A more progressive process to get to the final product (see below if curious). One thing I very much like is the information included with each bag. HS

Inconel is the real deal. I'm big on using it on seriously boosted cars' exhaust valves. Was good to me despite the mile long beatings. HS

The Niche has been a nice addition to my coffee routine. I have mixed feelings about the addition of the plexiglass disc when it comes to large sized Latin American beans, but that's a small thing and easy to remove. Nice to look at as well as I keep it on our counter. HS
