  1. I made the mistake of looking into the sun... I was looking at one as a possibility for the wifey's anniversary gift and saw the 41mm stainless with black Grande Tapisserie face in the pictures I was looking through. Ugh. HS
  2. Handsome watch. At that price point, I'd be purchasing something else though. The Royal Oak caught my attention... HS
  3. RIP, Ms. Foray. I spent a lot of hours enjoying that show as a pup... HS
  4. LOL....those days are long gone for me although corporate stress keeps me in check.... HS
  5. It is amazing how far engine technology has come in one respect and yet how similar they are to what they were decades back. The environment has arguably had the biggest impact on technology in the last few decades. Pretty amazing stuff when we set our minds to it... My primary bitch is the lack of space in an engine compartment when you have to wrench on a car. It's nuts how I can look straight down to the ground on my '78 Datsun 280Z and I can't see much of anything on my newer rides. Even changing plugs can be an adventure... HS
  6. Thank you, John. I will have a look. I have been on their website briefly likely via a link, but am not that familiar with them. HS
  7. Most are off my iPhone so I'm far from a photog... Understatement of the century. HS
  8. Thanks again, Fitz. This looks interesting. I'll do some additional research. Has to be better than photobucket's site... HS
  9. Thank you, Fitz. I will have a look. Do you happen to know if say a pic is embedded in a post, it is not accessed in whatever period of time is the cap (e.g. 6 months), whether that embedded pic then disappears and leaves something like "no longer available"? HS
  10. Fitz, I have heard some good things about imgur, but I have not used it. Safe to assume I can embed a photo (i.e. not simply a link) in a post on a forum like head-case? HS
  11. All, The Photobucket site has been crap for years. Now they want something like $400 / year for a user to post pics on a third party site (i.e. embed photos). If the site wasn't absolute crap, I might have given this more than a seconds' worth of thought. Since that's not the case, figured I'd ask here if there's a smarter way to do this. Thanks in advance. HS
  12. They are larger....mostly thicker as the caliber changed. I'm taken by auto racing themed watches. The Drive de Cartier had me and then I saw the Gulf Monaco. Spoiled by the idea of new and any Monaco would be used though. I think I'm in trouble... This thread is addictive. Thanks for the thoughts. Please keep them coming. HS
  13. Well, I bought the wifey's future anniversary gift. Sadly, it's taken me down the rabbit hole on a desire I had put to sleep with humble purchases with a bit of personality. The Drive de Cartier piqued my interest from the first time I saw it.... Then when I was minding my own business I saw the Tag Heuer in Gulf Oil livery.... Those Gulf Oil colored stripes against the black...yummy chow. Then there was the original Vintage (a re-issuance of sorts) that resembles the colors of Paul Newman's LeMans movie driving smock. Preferences? HS
  14. RIP, Mr. Bennington. Hope you're in a better place... HS
  15. The S/PDIF Toslink has been my preferred input as well. HS
  16. Streaming HD is a winner in my book. Still using DEEZER Elite or whatever it's called via a Sono's system that feeds my Ygg. Then I pipe it to my headphone amps via reasonable cables...works for me. HS
  17. RIP, Martin. MI during my formative years...could not get enough. That theme song and your face will be emblazoned on this aging man's psyche until the cells give out... HS
  18. Wow. Talk about a classic genre flick. RIP, Mr. Romero... HS
  19. When I had my wife's Omega Aqua Terra automatic serviced, I took it to Torneau here in H-town and they sent it off to Omega for servicing. Took a bit of time and it was not inexpensive, but they did do a beautiful job including cleaning up all the scuffs from the gold. Looked close to new. HS
  20. Thank you, ER....much appreciated! I will have a look at Jomashop now. HS
  21. pure sex. https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/auto/2018-porsche-911-gt2-rs/preview/?ftag=CAD13782fc&bhid=25929228263003360050844531033783 there's a short vid amongst the photo gallery. vroom vroom... HS
