  3. Sorry to see this, Dave. Best of luck with the repair. HS
  4. That's sad as can be. I damn near wore out my copy of 3 Feet HIgh and Rising... HS
  5. Woot!!! HS
  6. The GS-1 with the dynalo+ boards upgrade does great with the HD650's. I'm curious about this dynahi but I need it about as much as I need another car... The price point sure does look sexy for what it appears to be.... HS
  7. any pics of these beasts in the wild? HS
  8. My personal experience is that the ygg does a very nice job, and more importantly I get far more effect swapping transducers and amplifiers if I am chasing improvement and/or change. Just my two bits. HS
  9. Pure sexy, Kerry! Please keep the pics coming HS
  10. Wow...that's a loss! One heck of a run, though....91 is impressive. RIP, Mr. Davis. HS
  11. whoops....LOL. What a fail and yet they manage to sell many. I enjoyed my ESP950 while I owned it, but it just didn't scale enough for me once I tried it on the KGST and I needed more down low. I do agree it's good value for money compared to many other options out there. HS
  12. Geoff, Another stunning build. Kudos! Sam
  13. I've been using a Feather AS-D2 razor for a couple of years now. Exceptional build quality typical of proper Japanese work. Nice weight. Tested several blade brands and am hooked on the Feather platinums. Preshave oil is a must for me. The Art of Shaving oil is too heavy and has a bit of a clove smell for those that are sensitive to scents. Lather & Wood's unscented pre-shave oil is far better and more practical, especially with the mister on the bottle. I am a big fan of Taylor of Old Bond Street's Jermyn Street Collection for Sensitive Skin. I started using this a month or so ago and was shocked how good it is, especially for the price. I don't even bother with the badger brush anymore. https://www.amazon.com/Cremo-Astonishingly-Superior-Shave-Cream/dp/B009WQH8SA/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1469507784&sr=1-1&keywords=cremo+shave+cream It's a game changer. Their moisturizer is good, but not nearly as good as the shave cream. Alum block is a nice touch after a shave. I very much like this Neutrogena product for a post shave moisturizer. This is for a 3-pack. Note it has a bit of menthol. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JOLMTMI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 HS
  14. I hope they are far better than their e-stats which did nothing for me out of my KGSHHV Carbon. They were also really loud for anyone sitting nearby. Do the air flows leak sound more so than the average open pair of headphones? HS
  15. Ya can't make some of this stuff up.... HS
  16. RIP Gary... Marked a good bit of my youth. HS
  17. Now I can see... So much win in that little package! HS
  18. I can't see the pics??? HS
  19. I've been using a headamp GS-1 with the Dynalo+ upgraded boards with my HD650's for a few months now and it transformed those headphones. I'd put them up for a good while as I found them underwhelming with a Woo WA7 I was using. The GS-1 really perked them up for me. I do find the GS-1 a bit too bright with my TH900's, though....getting old and the uppers are a bit to peaky for my tastes. HS
  20. Yummy chow! Would love to get my paws on one should you elect to set one free... HS
  21. They have a lot of fans. Doesn't mean much as far as SQ, but I don't see many complaints about their equipment. HS
  22. That looks great, Kerry! I want one...bad. HS
  23. Came across this gent on Beats or DEEZER a good while back...can't recall. Here's a live session at a radio station I came across. The Fleetwood Mac cover at ~11min's and what comes after is pretty darn tasty if you like raw electric guitar. HS
  24. Thanks, John. George put a lot of love into the amp and I'm grateful. It's built solid as a brick. Uses that nice DACT stepper you kindly parted with...works great. HS
  25. We had a meet yesterday here in Houston. Great time and I got to listen to some fun setups. MrSpeakers had sent their Ether E prototypes so I brought my KGSSHV Carbon along as I'd read they require mo' power. My chain was 44/16 FLAC files via DEEZER Elite or via iTunes on my MacAir using BitPerfect > Ygg DAC > Carbon. Those that posted that the Ether's are power hungry were not kidding. The Carbon is a beast (thanks George) and uses the GR HV psu with 680uf 500v rated caps and a DACT stepper...it's a GREAT amp and absolutely makes my 007A's sing (thank you for awesome designs Kevin). Anyhow, I had to turn the knob to say 2 o'clock to get the Ether's to really make music and, as a reference, the 007A's were screaming loud at that point. The L300's there and a nice pair of 404 Signatures were really screaming at that volume level. The prototypes clearly need more work, which I figure is to be expected. If you're sitting next to someone using them, it's like you've got an old school radio playing...they bleed that much sound. Also, the micro details and that holographic instrument separation and placement are not there compared to the Stax. I expected them to hit harder down low given what a gent had told me, but with the Carbon the 007A's bass was deeper, more present and impactful IMO. The Ether's are more treble and upper mid's forward. A bit sparkly for me, but not terrible. I like the 007A's because they are what they are and I don't do peaky upper's too well anymore...getting old. Overall, fun to listen to as I like getting to play with prototype stuff, but a long way from competing with mid to upper tier Stax equipment. They are going to need one hell of an amp unless they make them more efficient. On a side note, I got to listen to some Canned Heat out of a Stax 006t with NOS tubes powering a pair of 404 Signatures and was pretty darn impressed with that rig. Great value for $ IMO. The L300's were fun, but a bit to bright for me and definitely light on the lower mids and bass front. HS
