  1. Screw these crappy cans, when is the clipon version of the 800 coming out?
  2. any hints on what the F5 parts cost as shown above for two channels?
  3. Yeah, I could live with that I guess, at a push.
  4. hehe. Looked at Fostex's parts list and their pads are cheap as shit. Literally about 9 bucks, sadly, nothing they list is in stock otherwise I'd be all over these. I gotta find a service shop with these in. At that price they are killa!
  5. Pfft, Lincoln only freed the slaves, Darwin freed the mind. Only problem now is that 50% of the freed minds are still slaves to dogma.
  6. SR-5 pads aren't very thick even new. I suggest we try to get hold of Fostex and see what they charge for pads. Outside of the really expensive pads, they are the best I've found. They mold and seal really well, better than the Stax pads.
  7. Yeah, you coulda got together with Tyll, what with his balloon animals and all. It would be like the return of Vaudeville
  8. You won't want them anyway, they suck ass and you'd be better off just buying some KSC-75s, they sound the same as Stax and you don't need to mess about with those stupid Stax amps an all that old balls..
  9. So ken, got any err, spare drugs at all there? *nod, wink* know what I mean...
  10. I'd like to think so
  11. Nice to see you're safe and mostly sound
  12. Unless the wedding was really fucking awesome with nekkid girls jumping out of giant weeding cakes and setting granny on fire, I'd say Batman on imax
  13. Heh, well Larry does have a proper 'stat amp to run them so hopefully they'll sound good. I only have the transformer box as there is no way I can ever afford the O2 or amp to go with them so I have to make what I have as good as I can make them. I think they're a real step up in every way from the SR-X and Gamma Pro, and given your impressions against the O2 I'm very happy to hear they do as well as that. I'll be interested in all opinions good or bad on them Sherwood. They should be with Larry sometime tomorrow afternoon. I don't expect too much as they are just Gamma Pros with some wood and O2 pads. Especially considering what they're up against over there... talk about 'big guns' of the headphone world
  14. Cheers guys! Sorry, no internal pics this time around. I was in too much of a hurry to get them finished in time for a meet where I guess I'll get to hear what the general consensus is on my wee creation. That was set number three of the Smegmas. I jst hope after all the waiting he likes them.
  15. Cool, I've never heard the O2 so I have no real reference to work from other than the rest of the lower end Staxes like the SR-X, Gamma Pro, 001 and varied Lambdas. However, they do cream all those as far as I'm concerned. I do love the punchy and deep bass of the Smegmas.
  16. OMFGZZZ!! That is the most awesome piece of awesome EVAR! What is the parts cost and stuff? Even I might be able to make one of them if that tiny parts count is to be believed. BTW, that layout design is the shit! Nice job
  17. Finally got around to finishing Larrys Smegma Pros
  18. Still fetching a decent price after so many years. I'd like to get one some day just to look at and play the odd CD
  19. Don't forget to add two boards for me that Pete will be making

    Any Deadheads on HC?

    Wifey's a deadhead, I've never been a fan though.
  21. I'd like to see a picture of that fully populated with wires
  22. I've seen less connectors on a studio ptchboard! Holy shit..
