  1. There is a bit of info on the Buffalo, and from what I've read it's all good! Keep your fingers crossed and you may be contacted...
  2. hehe...
  3. FIFY
  4. I don't know if I missed it somewhere, did you have a price set for these yet? And in your totally unbiased view will it compete with the Opus? Also, could we potentially buy uncased boards for integrating into an amp?
  5. The nice thing about the Hi-Fi 2000's is they also sell perforated black 2mm thick top/bottom panels which would be cool. I'll just have to choke down the expense if I want pretty
  6. Can't say, but I do have a Gamma-1 coming from MisterX soon. I won't have much to compare it to until I get an Opus built. My only other DAC right now is a Firestone Spitfire, not exactly world class.
  7. Heh, well I have to admit, I don't really need the heatsinks.. but they'll look so pretty with a nice wood front and top strips with some nice brass pointy feet and knob
  8. Is there anywhere in the US or close by that sells the HI-Fi 2000 cases, specifically the black 2U Pesante Dissipante 300mm or something similar. Decent quality, not like the crappy Par Metals case I have now. Preferably priced in $US and not cost an arm and leg to ship like it would from Italy, or is there no way around this pickle?
  9. ..but that's why I'm a pauper now
  10. Ok, this thread has DAC in the title so I'm hijacking it for my own evil purposes and n00b questions... I'm a pauper with nary two farthings to rub together. Now, I need a somewhat decent DAC which will also be attached to a B22. Is the Opus DAC going to be an economically friendly and viable option or is it going to be so-so? I imagine a few of you have or made one.
  11. Yeah, that was the first thing I checked. Works a treat. Now at least I should be able to get through the workday with it Dang, I like this little amp and I'm looking forward to getting my Gamma 1 DAC too. Should make for a great mini rig along with my micro PC.... running my gargantuan orthos!
  12. 20 hours? Yikes! I've only had it for two days and had it charging overnight from fully discharged twice. I guess it's probably still not fully topped up then. Thanks for the info Colin Happy day, I just had a dig around my office parts bin and found a 12V wallwart that's a perfect fit... used to belong to a plasma ball Woo, further digging and I found a 15V 800mA one too... I'm plugging that bad boy in there and hope it doesn't go over the 24V limit ... hehe
  13. Not plugged in all the time, just when it poops out at work. BTW, where do you guys find these walwarts? Also, what's the actual charge time for the average 300mah battery? We need so send a Fiio to Nate for the 'moar blackgates upgrade'
  14. At lest it's battery will get you through the day. My mini3 didn't make it past 7 hours Looks like I need another walwart for work. Great review Billy, I look forward to a more in-depth analysis.
  15. Lots of K1000 love going one here now That stand looks sweet too, congrats posty!
  16. I bought some Toffifay! Mmmmm, yummy treats.
  17. Hey, I read over at H-F that these things are the shit!
  18. Honestly, people will literally fall for any old tat if it's wrapped up in enough jargon and glowing BS.
  19. I'd say yes, 500 EUR isn't a bad price for a NIB. The Gilmore will run them, my DAP even runs them at a push, but you will need to get a decent amp for them later. If the K1000 is what you want, go for it.
  20. Very nice amps. Don, what kind of price are the Stackers?
  21. Fungi, It's fairly hard to get the top end to come out to play with the NAD. It was that lovely bass that got me... The top end on my set is still quite recessed and it has reflex dot, reversed driver and damping, yet it's still not as out there and extended as I'd want it. I may have to redo my set again along with the T30. However,
  22. Just put in my order for a Y1 DAC from Mister X
  23. It is really, really fucking ugly! ...srsly ugly ..dude.... ..
  24. On top seems to work just dandy for me... ooer missus, that sounds a bit saucy
