So I've been listening to more music at work (now that I have a job that lets me do that) and I've been coming across some of my favorite songs/lyrics. Huh, I'm working on one of those right now. Not for sale though, but there's a guy on DIY Audio that had boards and kits awhile back...promethis i believe. The kit price was reasonable...like $200 euros or so.

At $70 a pair, you'd hope they sound better. I've yet to hear a difference between panel components though and I've tried a few, mostly Cardas stuff and some Neutrik and Switchcraft stuff. I tend to go with things that are well-constructed over the marketing hype about better sound. I'm sure someone thinks that certain connectors sound better than others and they may be right. I've yet to hear otherwise though.

My wife and I are currently working through Angel, yeah it's a bit spotty at times, but good overall, I think we're in season 2 right now.

It's all good IMHO, but the early seasons 1-3ish or so had their appeal. Now I just need Xena to round out my handy soldering library for the next few months. I watch while I work...I should be pounding through a couple of seasons of Buffy over the upcoming long weekend.

I know a guy, who knows a guy Yeah it's pretty easy to change out LEDs. I'm pretty sure the Gilmore light LED is board mounted in such a way that you could take the cover off and desolder/solder a new one in...the resistor for the LED might not be the right value for the level of brightness you want, but that can be changed as well. As far as changing out an LED in a CD player, well it depends on location and whether it's easy to get to, some are, some aren't...most aren't as they tend to be soldered on PCBs that are mounted against the front panel with other buttons/controls and require a lot of dissasembly/reassembly to change out.

Ok so we did a white elephant gift exchange and his wife was all excited and getting into the spirit of it and everytime she said something he always shot her down...imagine David Brent from the UK office and the most painfully awful moments he makes and then just keep making them happen for an hour and a half straight.
