I actually took the photo before they were properly tightened, so everything is now all lined up. Obsessive compulsive for the win! But I managed to snap the head off the Toslink module...... it is going to be fun drilling a steel screw out of the plastic housing

I actually prefer front mount for the back panels. Makes it easier to see where you are trying to stick things when looking from above.

Panels arrived today, and all my measurements were good. I'm abso-freaking-lutely thrilled with how they turned out!

That was exactly my first thought. Why not just use a TRRS plug and jack? But then I was concerned about what would happen if someone tried to plug in regular phones, though...... ...... if that can be done, its a great solution.

Well the input impedance of PC soundcards can be as low as 1500 ohms according to one reference I found. You can't expect a line level output to drive that effectively, particularly if it has output coupling capacitors. So the headphone output will certainly give a better result into that sort of load. But increase the input impedance up to levels of typical amps, which is 10kohms and higher, the line level will start performing much better.

Depends what is meant by 'no load'. The situation might be very different feeding different input impedances.

I can't think of a way to physically wear more clothes when outside, yet still feel so very, very cold. I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually.......?
