  1. Nice looking relay attenuator, and an awful lot of Muse ES caps!

Hmmmm, I'm optimistic mine will arrive quickly then It might even beat the TPA order I made over three weeks ago
  3. Beefy replied to GPH's topic in Do It Yourself
They say up to 30 business days for shipping

When in your life have you ever been serious?
  5. HEH, what an obscure cultural reference! But these are actually 'waterproof' Merrell boots. A few years old, but I freshly waterproofed the leather just last week and they are fairly low use - the soles shouldn't be giving way yet
  6. It was fun until I realised my hiking boots are somehow leaking water in through the soles
  7. Yeah, he's a bit of a commie when it comes to open standards and the like.
  8. ..... what did Linuxworks do
  9. Ugh, I think you just overloaded and broke my hyperbole detector.

Or, perhaps serious builders are careful enough to not take HV measurement with their meter set on ohms?
  11. Currently watching my first Canadian snowfall
  12. Small, I believe.
  13. They seem to be producing a LOT of new designs in a VERY small amount of time considering the apparent small size of the company. I can't see how they would properly optimising any of them.

Don't be so smug; the leftie zombies will take the upper hand over their right handed counterparts as well.

For lefties like me. And be warned... one day lefties will rise up and take over the world. If you are nice to lefties now, your death with be painless.
  16. ....... you could always just keep a set, you know......
  17. Cool beans! It takes a while to get used to f/1.8 though, because of the shallow DOF...... having noses but not ears in focus is quite strange at first
  18. Looks like there are quite a few interested parties on that auction...... any idea on a good, reasonable market price?
  19. I only played the original for a few hours. How is it fun watching your Sim take 1 hour of game time just to bloody well make lunch
  20. Plastic fantastic! Nifty fifty! I have the Nikon equivalent which is extremely similar, but has a metal lens mount. Incredible bang for the buck
  21. My soldering is usually like this on 'easy' joints...... but ground plane joints, almost never Yeah, if you have a 'cold' iron on the part for a long time, you are more likely to damage the component than a hot iron for a short time. Just like kitchen knives. You are much more likely to hurt yourself by pushing hard with a blunt knife, than using much less force with a very sharp knife.
  22. From someone in the field, you have to be good at the seminars. At conferences etc, you simply cannot under-estimate the value of coming across well in spoken presentations Practice, practice, practice, and take on as much teaching as your schedule allows for. If you can keep the attention and interest of 30+ annoying first year students who couldn't care less about what you are saying, then you can definitely manage with experts who specifically came to see you because they are very interested in what you have to say......

Bought one. If it's crap, I'll find you

Hmmmmm, I might take a punt on the VC99 as well. If I do bite the bullet on the eXStata, my current meter might not be suitable as it only manages 600VDC.
  25. ....... that is NOT how I pictured aerius AT ALL.
