I found the clamp annoying too at the start. Frustratingly so. Then I just stretched it out. Hold the band at the screw joints to the poles (so the joint experiences no stress). Then bend it out completely flat and hold it there. Have to do this quite a few times. Then the clamp is reduced to a comfy level . Also give the pads a good massage (i did it when I had removed the pads) and the leather softens up. Now I dont have comfort issues. Plus I really like the foam on the headband, to me the foamy headband is deffo among the comfiest headbands iv had on my noggin (YH-1000 and SR-007 being the other few).

How did it sound vs the LCD2? I understand there were two HE6 versions there right.
-
fyi, it does have some light damping inside. The handwaving test proves its light though. Seemingly lighter than the stock T50v1 damping

Hi, Can you tell me what this 180degree outta-phase sounds like please? I just made my own DIY cable using their wiring diagram, and wouldnt want it to have phase issues. Thanks
-
Probably closer to your SR-5 pro. They look like they have leather circumaural pads on. Even bigger than your pads. (maybe O2 pads)

The hype will definately help sales, which is good for Audeze. But I also feel that its impossible for any headphone to live up to all the crazy hype....not everyone has the same preferences. Even the O2, its considered by many to be the bar to reach, but not everyone will like it Thatt much, same for LCD-2. You cant please everyone....but end of the day it's a great headphone, that's it. The problem lies in that to find which great headphone is for ones particular taste means listening to a bunch . Not cheap.
-
One very cool thing about the O2 is the sound is very see-through. This is due to the very open pad mesh, open back housing and zero damping. But the lack of "impact" is there for me, in the sense the notes dont seem to have real life heft. To me the LCD2 trades some of this 'openess' to gain some heft. I think this might be part of that "delicateness" you mention in the O2. Comfort wise, O2 also has a very light clamp, the LCD2 has more clamp. Overall soundstaging wise the LCD2 is great too, its not an artificially inflated stage, not a zero stage, its nice and 3D in its placement, much like the O2, but because of this 'openess' feeling I mentioned, there is a slightly different way this is presented thats a little hard to pin down for me.

What are the strengths that most make you like the O2mk2? It might be a case more of what you focus on in the sound.

Those are crazy good deals! some lucky buyers there. Yup seems like LCD-2 madness. K3cT: Im an avid orthohead and even im having a hard time believing such hyper positive feedback on the LCD2 thread , ill have to take dBels word for it till mine gets here (hopefully not that long , my courier tracking is giving some good news)
-
Yay . (except the 5th line...you someone else can take my share lol). Woop. (as soon as the last few remaining pay dBel84, an order will be put in with Audez'e )

Yup a great amount has been raised! but that last bit to go is the hardest! . I'd like to mention I meant $945+postage in my original post, not $949. But HC doesnt allow for post editing.

I had the SR-001 (practically the same), and I found it uncomfy, untill I bent out the headband a bit to reduce the clamp to very light. And i seal the tips against my ear canal opening rather than pushing them in like iems. And then I found it quite comfy!

I'v posted this on the other side too. As a thank you for his amazing contributions to the Head-Case community, and being just an all round awesome guy, some of us have decided to propose we all chip together to buy Smeggy an Audez’e LCD-2 headphone . The headphone is $949+$22 post to Seattle. Let’s make the contributions at $10 or more please . NoNoNoNoNoNo, dBel84 and I will make the first. Once we make up the $971, an LCD-2 will be ordered direct from Audez’e and posted to Smeggy! (Hopefully we hit the target and can give Smeggy this awesome gift from us all!) Please PM dBel84 (View Profile: dBel84 - www.Head-Case.org) with your username and how much you can contribute for definite. Once the full figure is promised by contributors, I will contact you all and ask for payment via PayPal. This way no one makes a payment unless we know we have enough. The post below will be updated with a list of contributors, and how far we are away from the target. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please Read about Paypal Payment: If you have signed up to make a contribution: Please make sure that you can accept Private Messages. If you have your PM setting turned off, you must turn it on. When the list fills up dBel84 will send you a PM with the PayPal e-mail address that you will be sending your contribution to. You must list your Head-Case user name in the notes section of the PayPal transaction,. If you do not do this we will not be able to tell who sent the contribution. Payment as a ‘Personal Transfer/Gift’ Send the exact amount you promised, and if PayPal asks you to pay a tiny fee please pay it. Oh but you saved so much on your recent CDP you can easily pick up that insignificant costing LCD2
-
But how can you know what you want to change in the sound already? Many have already commented it sounds nuetral, so rather would be better to hear before concluding they are not. Or you accepting that basically your taste varies from most (i know mine usually does)
-
Thats if you want a flat graph. Not a flat sound to your ears... :/
-
! you could use the plungers to stick to the bus, as a headrest to fall asleep on! awesome. Best upgrade everr! (speaking of Audeze, omg arr iv got ants in my pants waiting for mine! they r killin me with the wait)
-
Well looks like it's sold. So good news all round to the buyer, NoNoNoNoNoNo and smeggs (oh gary i just hate to think what you will do with an lcd2 loool, I think you should screw on some toy dalek's to the cup or something!)
-
I'd cut NoNoNoNoNoNo some slack here, as I understand it, if it sells at that, a big chunk ($350) from this will go to their Cakey creator. Hence helping them both buy the headphones they want. Not to mention they are v.cool headphones. I think it's a nice gesture.
