Whoops didn't see you posted this jack. Thanks for the detailed response. We are staying at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. Nothing fancy but close to a bus station and and more or less equidistant to all the places we wish to visit. I've run into some discrepancies (preservation hall tickets being $45 online but trip advisor reviews saying $15 at the door - usually it's the other way round) but we will deal with them once we get there. I'm getting excited.

That looks fantastic. Any idea of where one can purchase a DVD or a download Ric? Everyone in the photography club loved the trailer and we were going to try to make a movie night out of it. -
Both of my photographs submitted to a juried art exhibition were accepted Can't wait till Thursday to find out if they won anything. Hooray!

This is what I am getting when I import the .tiff file into Lightroom. In the scanning software it looks normal but when I save the file it looks like this... -

Any suggestions for flattening the film? Once the film dried, it was bowed out from the center the entire way. I wonder if this convexity affected the scanner. However with the autofocus of the scanner would that not have been accounted for? Just trying to rule out all the possible variable. -

VICTORY IS MINE figured out that the fixer was not in there long enough. Left it in there for ~7 minutes instead of the suggested 3 minutes and got super nice clean film. Scanned with relative easy. Now trying to figure out why it is out of focus You think that it is a body or a scanner issue, Ari? Same lens works fine on my D800. -

Yesterday I might have been a few seconds off the times but today I watched the temperature the entire time and was very particular. -

Yup getting the film on the spool was a fucking disaster something went wrong in the development process as well but I don't know what. Should have tried a random roll first as there were a few images I really wanted on the roll I fucked up last night. Going to take random shots on another roll and use it as practice. Hopefully I can get it right this time. -

Going to try to develop some Kodak 400TX film tonight or tomorrow. Just wanted to check to see if these times seem appropriate. 1. Film in tank. 2. Prewash to prevent air bubbles while adding developer. 3. Prepare and add 1+4, 250ml solution with http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/188027-REG/Ilford_1155055_Ilfotec_DD_X_Developer.html 4. Wash with running water again. 5. Prepare and add 1+19, 250ml solution with http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/169348-REG/Ilford_1893870_Ilfostop_Stop_Bath_500ml.html 6. Wash with running water again. 7. Prepare and add 1+4, 250ml solution with http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/253199-REG/Ilford_1984262_Rapid_Fixer_Liquid_1_Liter.html 8. Wash with running water again. 9. Prepare and add 1+200, 250ml solution with http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/25041-REG/Ilford_1905162_Ilfotol_Wetting_Agent_Liquid.html 10. Dry and scan. Only thing I don't know at this point is how long 3 needs to be done for. Any suggestions from the film people? -
Taking Julie to the French Quarter for our third year anniversary (Aug 12th). Can't believe she has tolerated me for three years now! We get in to New Orleans at 7:25pm on Aug 8th and fly out at 4pm on Aug 12th. Already have tickets for the WW 2 Museum. Any suggestions from those in the area or have visited the region in the past? Neither of us drink so the suggestions need not revolve around bars unless of course they serve good food/have good music. I don't do well with loud music in closed off places so suggestions for open areas would be great. Also, looking for suggestions for non touristy food places that don't cost an arm/leg. Something the locals would enjoy. The hole in the wall places have turned out to be the best for the palate and the wallet. Thanks

Also with the Sigma 50. I left it at f/1.4 because I wanted to see how it did wide open. Can only get better from there. No sharpening/clarity applied anywhere. Just played with the colors. -

I only shot a couple of frames with it yesterday before the evening came to an end. It's absurdly sharp. Judging from just that one shot I posted above, I like the bokeh contrary to what Kai said in his review. the lens is as heavy if not heavier than the 35 art which was awesome but just a weird focal length. Not wide enough and not long enough for what I was shooting. Hopefully I'll get to shoot it some more over the next few days. -

I asked for a refund on the old one and ordered a new one. So far it is running just fine. No crashes. Last time I spoke too soon. Will wait before I jump to conclusions. Marc, the academic licenses I purchased are Mac specific and won't work on a PC (I tried). I can't afford a Mac Pro (they start at $3000) and an iMac would not fit well on my desk as I already have a 27" monitor. -

Nate I'm giving the rma motherboard another chance. If not I'll try to see if adobe can offer me a PC license in exchange for my mac ones. Probably not but I'm not buying those licenses again. If this desktop doesn't work out ill likely just try to use the MacBook Air. Which sucks as I got the most watered down version -

I purchased a MacBook Air with mountain lion. When mavericks came out, I paid the $20 to buy it. Not sure where I stole software from them. Now I patiently wait for the next bullshit and misinformed comment from Dan about not buying software unless I buy their hardware. Ps. I just bought a MacBook Air that comes pre loaded with mavericks so I guess I paid twice for it then. -

For a $200 motherboard wish it didn't have as many problems. That being said, I intend on using the apple wireless keyboard and trackpad so hopefully I can find one port that works reliably. Asus and MSI aren't Hackintosh approved. I am trying to stick to the list pretty closely. Amazon now charges sales tax in Florida so I have been shifting to B&H and have found the prices to be comparable with 3 day free shipping. I'll give this one more try. If I have any more issues, then I'll send it all back as there's no telling as to what damage could have been done in transit to the other parts. -

Doug they worked initially. Then they all stopped working one at a time. I'll try some linux distro tonight. Marshall, I don't have a DMM handy but that drive is the only one dying/dead as it came bouncing around inside the box with no protection whatsoever. Drives that are 5+ years old are still running just fine. -

All 4 usb ports on the motherboard stopped working. Hard drive won't even turn on. Back they go. Anyone know if I'll need to do a fresh install if I change the motherboard out? -

Very nice peter. I had to go through 6 or 7 copies before I got a sharp one but I'm very happy with it. Small and light. -

Reviews say it has a hard time sometimes figuring out when one image ends and the next one starts. We shall see even if it needs to be split up in two instead of all 36 exposures at once I'm still saving a shit ton of time.
